Hepatitis would've been seen / checked right away by the doctor if it were a possibility, I'd say. And everyone is different. Some people are fine with 600 mg a day of a med, Seroquel, taken in the morning, whilst 50 (I think) mg of it taken in the evening was all I needed to be unable to move (pretty much literally crawled up the stairs to call in sick) for almost 24 hours, and to sleep 34 hours in a period of 36.
Some people are much more sensitive than others, and it can happen to any part, so I think it's not safe to assume it can't be that just because the situation couldn't cause it. Besides, we don't know the details, and there might be another issue in the background. Hepatitis would most probably have been detected by now since it's an infection, but I'm sure there's a ton of things that can make a liver vulnerable.
