I'm about to reach my 11 month here in a few weeks. My energy levels have been fluctuating for a while since starting hrt. Which I think is normal, since estrogen and going through puberty is a double whammy towards the body. Its gonna take sometime to get used to. Which I have but some days I just want to lay in bed all day ;D

It is annoying sometimes how much sleep I feel like I need  but I can't complain too much. Sleeping used to be somewhat uncomfortable. As the months have passed on hrt, sleeping has gotten soo much better. Before hrt I used to toss and turn, wake up a bunch in the middle of the night. Now I don't have the problem unless I have to go to the bathroom of course

What's everyone's experiences  regarding your energy? When did you feel like you started to normalize somewhat?

If I were you I would have my T levels checked. If they are too low that could be the problem.

It took awhile, about a year or so for me, but they did. I now have almost as much energy as I did pre-HRT. Diet, exercise, and lots of sleep were key for me. If you get really tired, sleep. Don't try to fight it. I also sleep like a rock now as well.

Well I feel great nowadays, it was just in the beginning it took sometime to get used too. I also have to note I've been a major insomniac all my life. This past month I've been able to sleep past 6 hours. Which I haven't done in years. Plus I've been going through some other things in my life recently that almost put me back into a depression. Thankfully I'm out of those issues for right now. My insomnia is finally almost gone, which is so amazingly nice.

I had my last vist with my endo back in lOctober. My levels during that time were really good. And I haven't noticed any serious or slightly negative changes since then. So I'm pretty sure everything is peachy hormonally.  I have my next check up coming up in April.

@ Jenn it's nice being able to sleep like a rock now right!  ;)

Just a personal opinion.

I think it is very important to have regular exercise when on HRT. Even if you didn't before. Your body and brain are going through a lot and exercise helps both.
You are moving fat around, you are doing stuff to muscles, your liver is going nuts and your brain is saying OMG who did that?

So regular gentle exercise may be of great benefit, even if you are not used to it, a walk anything. OK I'm a gym junkie and have kept that going and I have had incredible body changes, I'm not sure if I could have coped without being aware of how my body usually feels during the changes.

I hope that isn't too obscure ::)  It isn't meant to be.

I completely agree Cindy!
There was time in my life where I was very serious about working out. My diet as of now is pretty good. I drink plenty of water and I stay away from processed foods as much as possible.

I've been getting back into my yoga routine. I plan on starting my aerobic exercise routine as well (situps, squats). I want to get back into running but I don't have the proper clothes yet. Not to mention I don't have any running shoes that fit well anymore. It's on my list, hopefully I'll be able to get them in time for spring!

Oh just as an aside, I was worried about transitioning at the gym, I am a long term member and I never do classes, which most of the woman do, I do my own routines, aerobic and weights, and get help for new stuff from PTs as needed. So I'm mainly with the guys, who have watched me change from a rather wimpy guy to me; that is me in the avatar, very recent.

They have been totally and utterly fantastic. Few of the guys talk to me except for Hi, but that seems normal for the muscle boys and other woman.  But goddess they are protective. There are some machines that need weights loaded and I can no longer lift them (upper body has gone beautifully), even though my legs can work them. I just say please can someone help and they are loaded and unloaded. One poor person, a newcomer, tried to insult me (when I was very much in between)  two guys just took him aside, said something and he left. Never to return.

Diet.

Mmm totally changed. Lots of water, Spiro does that ! I have to have three meal a day.

Breakfast: usually scrambled eggs on toast.

Lunch: sandwich, usually meat and salad, with fruit and a yoghurt. I also like tuna or salmon instead of meat.

Dinner: usually meat and veggies, Italian- pasta etc, lots of carbs, lots of vegies.

No snacks. never eat dessert.

Sleep? Usually to bed 9-9.30pm , get up at 12am ish go through posts (a Mods life ) back to bed at 2am up at 6 am. Feel great.

Sorry if I got side tracked!

Hehe that's pretty awesome Cindy. The guys helping you out like that!!

I really need to put myself on a schedule like that again for my diet!! I just eat as much as I can in a 24hr period.

Yeah I don't go to the gym, I'd like to get membership one day or join a yoga group. That's only going to happen once I go full time + the name change.

I'm about to go backwards on my diet tho. Making a pizza for an early breakfast (cravings) but it's alright I have a fast metabolism. It takes a lot for me to put on a ton of weight. However I'm actually trying to gain weight right now loading up on carbs and such. It seems that my body type is the hourglass figure. So all of my fat goes straight to my hips or breasts. Judging from my measurements and how my fat has distributed.
