Hey guys,
I have a friend, Ryan, and he just started taking T - it's his second or third week now.
Once though, he told me that he got really sick because of it?
And that made me really start to wonder, will that happen to me or anything? I mean, being really sick?
I know it probably sounds foolish, worrying so much over just, puking.. but, it's just one of those things, y'know..?
I'm terrified of vomitting -- I absolutely hate and dread it.. like.. it might as well be one of my phobias.. If it isn't already I mean.. I don't know.. :s
but anyway!
Has that ever happened to any of you, and like.. is that normal..? To get so sick I mean.

I got something like a cold when starting T. Nothing bad. Just a sore throat.

That sounds awful.
I don't remember anything like that happening to me when I started...
And looking over the side effects that came with my T, I don't see vomiting listed, or perhaps I'm just missing it.
I wish I could be more help? It's possible that he's very slightly allergic to it? Allergies effect people in strange ways.
Has he gotten sick more than once like that since he's started?
Perhaps it was just something he ate, or maybe he caught a 24 hour bug?
If it only happened once since he started, I wouldn't think that it was the T. But who knows.

I don't think testosterone would make someone vomit, unless he's one of those human anomalies that are allergic to certain sex hormones - if it was a one time thing, I doubt it though and he probably just got sick from something else around the same time he took his shot of testosterone and blamed the hormones for it because it was the first thing that came to mind.
Meow.

Never heard of someone getting sick from hormones. Not beyond a sore throat, cramps, and maybe some achy muscles or joints. Your friend does realize that this is cold and flu season? I would think that he could have gotten a bug unrelated to anything to do with hormones.

The only thing I've had was aching muscles for a few days (could have been related to my surgery around the same time as I started T too...not sure) and my throat gets tight feeling so I'm constantly clearing it.

There were a few times that i had this issue,it was maybe only a few weeks in which is when the hormones really started to effect me in more ways then one.I didnt *throw up* but i came close but once those days passed,i was normal like nothing happened.for me i didnt see it as a bad thing but the thing about me is,i have lived life as a female for MANY years, also have P.C.O.S so my body was having something *more pronounce* being put into it.it was kinda of like a wake up call for my body but as long as the person doesnt push their limits then once the body gets used to it then it wont be an issue.Of course im stating this from someone who has had E for over 30 years in their body so this was expected on my end.I would however have them speak to a doctor and find out what is causing it and if they are given the green light, then go for it.

Hey bud. Just to set you mind at ease, I think that his reaction was probably NOT related to the testosterone. So him sayig 'I got sick because of it' is probably not too accurate. Maybe the emotion, he attached to the shot made him so anxious that he vomited?

Regardless, i dont think the two are truly related.

One common cause for sickness in pregnant woman

Estrogen: This hormone, which also rises rapidly in early pregnancy, is another suspect. (It's possible that other hormones play a role as well.)
About half of all pregnant women suffer from both nausea and vomiting, one quarter has nausea alone, and one quarter lucks out altogether.

Even here, not all suffer from it,some not so bad and some very bad.
There is yes,a high chance that the rapid change in hormones in many *like a teeder totter* can cause sickness/throwing up.this doesnt mean it is something serious but a bodies reaction.I have learned to never say never in the world of the human body and science.

I've only had two shots so far, so I was waiting to for third one to see if it happened again before I made a post about it to ask a similar question

Both times I've had my shot, I've had flu-like symptoms set in a few hours afterwards, and then they disappear again by the following morning and I'm fine.

Achey, headachey, just wanting to curl up and barely capable of doing anything...and a sickly feeling...cannot recall if I actually was sick or just felt like I was going to be.

It's really odd, the first shot I just figured I'd gotten a 24 hour bug and it was a coincidence but the second time it happened I was like...surely not a coincidence if it's happened twice within two hours of getting a shot? If it happens again on my third shot then I'm going to be certain it's connected.

Im on gel but when i first started T for the next 3 days i was extremely sick puking and in pain. I didnt move from the couch/bathroom and my girlfriend had to take care of me. I think it happens to some people bc it is such a drastic change in your body and hormones that youre not used to

i got a scratchy throat which is a symptom of my voice dropping.

Oh man, sorry about not responding for so long.
Aw, guys --thanks for the replies. ;w;  aagghh
So I talked to him today, and I asked about how his second shot went -- he said that he felt kind really crappy afterwards - like, when you just want to crawl into a bunch of blankets in your bed and sleep, and maybe drink hot chocolate.. He wanted like, comfort, I guess. He still felt gross afterwards he said, but he didn't get sick the second time. .w.
Which is a huge relief on my part..
I mean, I was actually really freaking out about it. ^^"
Thanks guys for all of your replies - I mean, they really helped. :)

Or you might be like me... I didn't feel a thing in terms of feeling ill or negative side effects.

Hey Jeatyn, are you not getting your shots regularly or do you use something when not getting the injections??

I'm on Nebido so they're more spaced out. I'm assuming you were asking because I've only had two yet my ticker is over 4 months? ^_^

I didnt get sick but had tried mood swing and heart beats which can feel just as bad. take in mind I been on T for over a year so general I havent got more sick than usual.
I think for the most part people dont get sick of T, sure its diffrent how you react and some are more unlucky than other but in general what you would get would be thing like sore thorat for a time, but not something very serious and even if you can go to your doctor to check up.
when I where to start T I where told how horrible sick but I didnt really get sick or anything. I think if your worried it could be good to start on gel, cause if you feel wierd, or ill you can imidently go to your doctor, or stop, its a bit harder if you go with an injection like nebido wich you will have in your body for 3 months
