Hypatia

Dear folks, my name is Hypatia, I'm MTF. I identify as a woman.

I'm a late bloomer -- currently I've been in therapy for over 2 years and on HRT for over 1 year. My friend recommended Susan's Place as hopefully a more supportive community. Looking for information, camaraderie, and hopefully support during the bad times, and to offer support to others.

I just want to say my transsexual experience has been the most painful, darkest, scariest thing ever, while also being the most joyous, blessed, and healing thing ever. Facing up to both the good and bad together has transformed my existence in the most amazing and radical ways. This has made me appreciate all the more how precious each moment of life is, the value of human compassion, and how to open up the potential within my own being. It's just been one profoundly intense journey and is still evolving. I would like to evolve in contact with this community.
Here's what I find about compromise--
don't do it if it hurts inside,
'cause either way you're screwed,
eventually you'll find
you may as well feel good;
you may as well have some pride

Go n-éirí do bhóthar leat.
Vous m'avez faite aller chercher cela dans le dictionnaire irlandais. If I understood it right, that phrase means 'May the road rise to you' Merci!

I knew Céad míle fáilte already, my Mom has that on a plaque by her kitchen door. Half Irish, on my Mom's side.

Thanks to everyone for the warm welcome!

That's right Hypatia, this is the literal translation. After the famine and during emigration times, it was used at the end of the wake for the ones, like your mother's ancestors, who were leaving home to go abroad to make a new life for themselves. It was the way to wish them: Good luck, have a good journey and a good life. Bon voyage et bonne chance pour le futur.
