I'm prone to UTIs and im not sure whats going to happen with them after i get bottom surgery (phallo). Will i get them more frequently or will they stop because of the urethral lengthening? and could being prone to UTIs effect healing?

I had one a couple weeks after my hysto. I swear I would rather have another surgery than a UTI. It's just horrible.

I did a little research after getting rid of it and found that cranberry juice (100% unsweetened) is a natural preventative for UTI's. I've just been drinking a glass a day but I'm looking for cranberry concentrate pills. Probably have to order some but from what I've seen online they're cheap.

Not sure about after phallo but preventing them now would be a good idea. I kinda tripped a bit when I found out the infection can spread to your bladder and kidneys. It's nothing to take lightly.

Look for them in a health food store? That's where I have found them. They do work nicely if you are almost getting them but not quite. Don't know re: phallo or meta.

From what I understand, UTIs are a rather common complication after a phallo. With the healing and also with the catheter. But I imagine that after it's healed, you would have less chance due to having the longer urethra as well as the new positioning of it.

My understanding is that there is a good chance of getting a UTI after phallo with the catheter.  But after everything has healed, you have a advantage of a longer urethra with the opening away from your body so less likely to get UTI, which a great positive for getting a phallo.
