Now the article suggests she is delusional but I think it makes sense she could have had an area of her brain that woke up as it were. Therefore I don't think shes delusional at all. Well aside from seeing people a certain way.
With respect Shawn, most things which claim to be science are not necessarily so. Frequently, there will be some report of scientists discovering something really amazing, until you realise the 'Scientists' are a PhD student and their researchers, looking for funds!
But with this, there is probably quite a lot in it, mainly because any injury to the brain can have catastrophic consequences.
I seen people completely changing personalities. Reports of people talking in different languages. Changing perceptions, these are all very common.
What I always found so horrifying were reports, though rare, of people who had recovered from serious brain injuries. They would say that, they were completely aware of what they were doing or saying, but unable to control it at all. That every time they did whatever, they felt sadness inside.
Two in particular was a man who murdered his wife before later having a tumour removed. He claimed he would have preferred to die because he can't face life knowing what he did. Other people waking from long term comas, knowing everything and remembering everything that was said, while they were still in their coma.
When you are with a relative who has just died, it is important to continue to stay with them and even speak, for up to 20 minutes after they have gone, simply because the brain stem can, sometimes, continue to function. We can dismiss that as unimportant, but I always advised relatives not to take that chance.
