Starting HRT on Monday!

I had my initial lab work done about a month ago. I'm finally going back in for my follow up on Monday. I was waiting to see what insurance was going to pay on my labs before I went back and further myself into debt.  Well, I got a statement back saying that they paid for it all! 🙂 So now, I've got nothing but positive energies going.  The doctor at the clinic has said that she'll be prescribing me hormones and blockers when I go in on Monday!  I'm really excited but also a little scared.  It's so weird to think that my life will never be the same!  I'm ready for the change!  I hope I see some changes soon!  What should I expect first?  Anyway, I just wanted to share as I'm so giddy with excitement!  Also, took a new pic (see my avatar)!  Thanks, girls, for letting me gush!!! <3 <3 <3

Exactly the kind of feeling I have right now. Was just given the prescription by my endo, can't wait to start...gonna get em mones tomorrow.

Ps. I also can't stop grinning when I called to activate my new credit card today and the person on the other line keep on addressing me as miss 😀

I still remember the time and place of my first pill, right outside the pharmacy where I got my script filled.

I also remember the pharmacist; who I had been to and still go to for all my meds for depression, blood pressure etc so he and the staff knew me well. When I handed my script in he just said, and when are you going to change your name and what would you like to be called? I think he guessed something

The reaction at the pharmacy are sometimes a little funny when picking up scripts.  For three boxes of patches, and two giant bottles of spiro the assistant at the counter said to me "What prescriptions are you supposed to be picking up?".   And then she added "I think the Pharmacists will want to discuss these with you."

Thanks... yay got them in my hands now, but I think I'll start next week on 14th, might as well start on the date that I can remember and for several other reasons that makes 14 the perfect day to start.
The spiro does smell minty.. I wonder if they tasted the same too haha...

I'm feeling sooooo tired and my skin turned dry and itchy. I have to use moisturizing cream before bed because my skin itches so bad I can't sleep

Somebody experienced the itch too??

I just took my first estradiol a few minutes ago!  She didn't prescribe me spiro because she was concerned about the finasteride I'm taking, but I'm going to get that cleared up really soon!

@Marta did you start with low dosage or straight to regular (you can google what is the regular for most ladies). I'm on my 3rd day and yet to feel anything like that, maybe too soon haha...either way I'm glad that I'm doing this. The first effect seems to be mentally rather than physical changes. 🙂

Report it to your medic. It can be a side effect as well as the tiredness, get it checked to be safe.
