Hi ladies, on March 27th, I fly out for my SRS and BA with Dr. Chett over in Thailand. I am starting to make a list of things I need to bring with me and what stuff to pack for my trip. I am going with my Mom by the way. I need some help answering some things. :)

Is there anyting major I should be doing or looking out for?!
Any general advice for me?!
Should I bring cash or just plan on paying with most things with my Credit Card/Debit/Visa?!

Thanks so much, I am so excited and really looking forward to it. I just know it's going to be a positive experience and I am going to have a wonderful result. I was thinking about getting some skirts and dresses this weekend for when I have the surgery and need to be cofortable.lol

Also, what sorts of stuff to being on the plane to help wit the long trip?? And did any of you bring your Hormones with you to Thailand?! Thanks

Hi Starbright,

I would plan to take cash or travellers checks.  I called my credit card company just before I left
the US.  I wanted to let them know I was travelling to Thailand.  I had heard that some credit
card companies, will disable cards if they think charges may be fraud.  While I was on the phone,
an out of nowhere thought came to me.  I asked if there were any charges to use my card overseas.
The rep said there would be a 3% service charge for all purchases made in Thailand! That would of
come to $60.  Travellers checks were free at my credit union.

I assume Dr Chett wants payment up front.  There are charges associated with wire transfers.  And you
will get a much better exchange rate if you insist your bank send a strong currency purchasing baht in Thailand
versus letting the bank buy baht and send that to Thailand.  Given that your surgery this info might be a bit late.
When I was making my arrangements with Dr Suporn, I watched exchange rates.  Even though Dr Suporn only wanted 50%
6 months before surgery I sent 100%.  The US $ to baht exchange rate was falling, the day I sent my payment $1 was
worth 33 baht  at the time of my surgery $1 was worth 30 baht. The savings added up.

If you search on my name I have posted some other info from my trip to Thailand.

I hope this info helps.

Hy there I am leaving to see dr chett, on the 24th of march, my surgery date is for the 28th, I havent entirely figured out what I am going to do about my financial situation as to when I go over there either, Wire transfer of the remaining amount seems like it may be a smarter decision than carrying a bunch of cash. But I am still not sure. I'd have to check my email bbut I seem to remember dr.chett prefers cash or wire transfer.
Its nice that you mom is accompanying you, I myself am going alone. As for the long plane trip over there I got a psp, and an extra battery and may pick up an mp3 player.
I plan on bringing my hormone with me, as well as any other medications that are prescribed to me.
What hotel did you decide to stay at, perhaps I can say hello, it may be nice to have a friend while there.
