I recently got new insurance and checked our plan specifications on the website today and noticed that my gender on there was male. However, when filling out the paper work I'm quite sure I put female. Maybe they thought I made a mistake since my name did say Jacob :p.

Should I call and get this corrected? I'm not legally male & idk if this will hinder coverage as far as gyneocologist & things of that nature, in the event that I need to see one.

Any help will be appreciated  :).

Personally, I wouldn't risk it.

if you end up needing emergency care and it involves your female organs,
they probably won't cover any of it. Legally male or not doesn't matter.
Coverage is different depending on what you physically have.

That's why I'm having full hysto so that I can change my insurance policy
and not worry about not receiving care.

Also they can refuse to cover you if they see that your legal documents say one thing,
and it says another in their own documents about you. Insurance sucks like that..

It's awesome that they put you as male though.
If you got a medical card or something I'd keep it and frame it xD

(Keep in mind this is from where I live, with how insurance works here.
Maybe you're one of the lucky few that lives in a place that understands
transsexualism.)
