So im getting very used to life as a woman thanks to my sister. So far there is one BIG thing i can't really figure out yet. All of my life i have been attracted to women. Well recently i have started having dreams where i am a postop woman, but am with guys in the dreams instead of the usual girls. Both me and my sister are confused by this, so....is it normal, or do i just need to wait until the dreams pass and im with other girls in my dreams again.
Thanks
Kari.

Okay, all I can do is give my point of view of my sexuality where I struggled with figuring out what I wanted. I have always dated girls, but I did it as a "straight male" which is something that I act as because it's not really me. I have however always fantasized about being with a man as a woman, ever since I could fantasize about those sort of things. I'm not sure if dreams and fantasizing could be linked or not, but maybe that's a possibility. I would say, just be open with yourself and to your own sexuality. It's very possible for your sexuality to appear to change/to like the opposite gender than you did before. Best of luck!

Are you taking hormones?  I think some people have changed orientation after or during transition.  For me, I have been with both men and women and day dream or fantasize about being with both sexes but I have only ever dreamed of being with women.  Who knows if dreams are insights into reality or meaningless images created by a bored brain.

I was on hormones for about 4 months but sadly ran out about 3 weeks ago because i got laid off from the factory i worked at and unemployment is only paying $100 a week, sadly not enough to pay my bills and pay for my doctor visit.

That's actually one of the big discussions we get into...can one change their orientation because of HRT/transitioning?

Some do (possibly because they were suppressing their "true" orientation (gay or straight)), or perhaps their orientation (i.e., their preference) stays the same, which makes it look like their orientation changed...and finally maybe orientation isn't as carved in stone as we might think it is. We know that gender tends to be more fluid (some like water, some like molasses...either way, still fluid)...so I suppose it's possible for sexual preference to be more fluid as well.

No matter what...just go with it, if you're comfortable. If not, explore yourself to find out why you're not. (There are legitimate reasons for both).
...I think for most of us it is a futile effort to try and put this genie back in the bottle once she has tasted freedom...
