Seems like everyone has had much different experiences then! What is the funding like for you guys? Are you entitled to anything at all?

I'm only entitled to the things I can pay for out of pocket, with top surgery being my first aim.  I don't have much funding for it either being an unemployed broke college student.  There was no way I was going to use my mother's insurance (I'm on hers) in order to pay for a gender therapist.

Funding is ->-bleeped-<- where I live, they just removed top surgery and GRS from our healthcare last year. I'm lucky because I live with my parents who really care for me. They've paid out of pocket for my therapy and are planning to pay not only for my top surgery but also for my accommodations since i'm going out of province. I intend fully to pay for my own Hyster, I already feel bad enough that my parents pay for everything, they've been so supportive.

I do feel awful for all the other trans individuals in my province though who, now thank's to the removal of the surgeries from healthcare will now struggle and may not even be able to get their surgeries. How face-lifts and tummy tucks can be covered but a required and necessary surgery like Top surgery can be just tossed aside on the whims of biggots will always baffle me.
