support groups around chattanooga TN

I am looking for support groups around the Chattanooga, TN area.  My best friend really would like to find one, but the closest we've found is Nashville or Atlanta.  She also is a little fearful of going alone the first time, would I or her boyfriend be able to accompany her?

Yes, Friends and significant others are usually quite welcomed in support groups. Go with her Spring!

I facilitate a group in my area and we welcome allies in the form of friends and family. Chances are you would be totally welcomed there. I know the area well and have friends who live there, but alas none of them would know of a support group in the area.

Thanks for everyone's responses.....very appreciated. Although my friend now lives 6 hours in the other direction due to moving for a new job! So.....I guess I should look in that area now if she's still willing to go....but again thanks everyone!

Adabelle: where do yall live? NoogaBooga or ? Is it strictly TranZ-folk? I am a 'no-op' MTF~TG soul w/ no 'big isues' really(regarding such)...more of a 'support' type being.

No, I actually live in Seattle, I just have friends in TN. I just wanted to chime in and say that in every trans support group I've been to it would be no problem if an ally came along with a trans person for their first meeting.

Northern Cal. is closest I've been sadly.
BTW: Chattanooga is an awesome/cool/ little-ish city (but don't tell anyone,don't want it to turn into 'another' Austin,where I used to live).
