I know it's different for everyone (genetics, dosage, type of T etc.) but just in general- how long did it take for you to get facial hair? Just curious really

At about 6 mo- 1 year my moustache started coming in enough that I looked gross If I didnt shave it. Now at 1 year 9 mo the rest of my beard is starting to come in but it doesnt look good so I still have to shave it.

6 months you can KINDA see it.

This is what I had at 1 year.

1 year 5 months

1 year 9 months

2 years

2 years and uh...3 months maybe?

Click pictures for high res.
So, it didn't start getting really visible until around a year and a half.

Mine's coming in pretty strong now, and I'm at a week over 3mo. I've had the under-chin scruffle for about a month-ish, and now it's slowly creeping up the rest of my face. Sideburns are coming pretty well, too, but a lot of it is still blonde, and I'm dark brunette. Bah humbug. So hopefully in the next month or so, it'll darken up :)
What the hell was that?!                 From every wound there is a scar,
Spaceball 1.                                     and every scar tells a story.
*gasp* They've gone to plaid!        A story that says,
                                                        "I survived."

Mine just started coming in dark. I've been on T for 7 months so don't be discouraged if it seems to be taking awhile.

I'm at 1 month and my mustache area is already starting to darken (to where other people have noticed without me pointing it out), but the hairs haven't begun to thicken yet so it's just dark peach fuzz lol. No sideburns or chin hair darkening or thickening yet.

Not in the scope of your original question, but I haven't noticed any body hair changes yet either.

I'm a few weeks shy of three months, but I've noticed my sideburns starting to creep downwards, as well as some dark (though sparse) hair springing up on my chin and neck. My already obvious mustache has started getting even more obvious, and seems to grow back faster now. My eyebrows look thicker, too.

I have been on T for 2.5 years on a typical dose every 2 weeks.

I have barely any facial hair, I have like.. one thick black hair on my chin, then about 5 thin brown ones.  Then my "mustache" is probably a little bit thinner then the average hairy woman who has to wax her lip.

am I bitter? YES

I'm gonna look 13 for the rest of my life..

Elijah,
I'm sorry your unhappy that you feel you are looking like your 13 year old boy. A lot of people look young for their age. And when you get to be older, your gonna wish you looked young. I'm 31 and I look like I'm about 15 year old and some people think I look like a little boy. I honestly don't care. As long as I pass as male it doesn't bother me.  I actually don't want to look older. If I could look 25 for the rest of my life  that would be great! I don't want to look old. Who does anyways, right, lol? I know you wanna look your age. But I don't think you look 13. I think you look older than that. You might still look like a teenager but most people in their 20's and 30's do. How you dress too will determine how people will see you as, ya know? Don't let it get you down. I have a cousin who is 16 and he has no facial yet. I know 16 it still young, but it could be years before he has any facial hair coming in. I know it's frustrating. I'm frustrated with it myself. I want a 5 0' clock shadow and I can't get one.

I was talking to a cis-male freidn of mine and he said that when he was about 25 he had a great beard but couldn't grow a mustache or anything around his mouth to save his life, then when he hit thirty his facial pattern switched. If you are in the normal male range for T and your genetics will allow it, I think it will come with time. It's a shame some of us have to wait so long though... I hear and understand your frustration Elijah, while I haven't been on T as long as you, I get the frustration of not getting your proper facial hard in a timely manner when everyone else seems to get it within the first few months. Hang in there, from your profile pic though I'd say you definitely pass, so don't be too upset. Some of the most handsome males don't have much in the way of facial hair.

Barrowman only has a bit of a mustache that he never grows out, yet i'd argue he is undoubtedly male and undoubtedly a sexy beast.

Mine just started to be visible, thicker and darker. My dad always had an awesome beard so I'm hoping.
