Thanks for the reply Tristan, that would work out about £4500. I was told electrolysis would probably cost me around £3000 due to not being able to have laser so it wouldn't cost much more to take this route.
I don't know if the NHS would go for this trade off but i'm desperate enough to try, at least if I could pass as female then I could start HRT but my deadline for going full time is late June.
The NHS aren't supposed to have going full time as a requirement for HRT but rules are just ink on a page, they mean nothing in reality.
Right now it's hard enough to get a job in the UK but i've changed my name by deed poll so couldn't even hide the fact that i'm transitioning at job interviews, there's an average of 300 people for every job in this part of the country & no employer would consider hiring me knowing that i'd need time off for medical procedures when there are so many others to choose from, no prospective employer would have to know that i hadn't had SRS if I was on HRT & passing.
The sooner I get electrolysis & start HRT the sooner I stand a chance of getting a job to save for going private, the longest i've ever been out of work is 1yr & after 6 months of unemployment i'm bored & itching to start earning money again, when viewed in this light it would be worthwhile having to wait a few more years for SRS & passing would mean more to my mental wellbeing than SRS.
