I love to shop but I hate being invited to go shopping with somebody when I have no money....
To dream of the person you would like to be is to waste the person you are.

I have always loved shopping! It's why when my daughters were growing up I would jump at the chance to take them shopping in all the nice stores, they have very good taste in fashions and I have to admit it was nice to live thru their experiences even though I was hopelessly stuck in boy mode those years.

Now my shopaholic spouse and I love shopping for cute things and I think she actually enjoys picking out things for me more than she does for herself :)

Alaina dear...I feel your pain!

It's tough being responsible and paying bills instead of going on a shopping spree :(

Duh, yeah.

However, my shopping is still very much in boy mode.  See what I like, go in, buy it. I don't spend 4 hours deciding

As a male, I hated shopping for clothes, never bought jewelry, etc.

As a female I love it, am in danger of buying all sorts of stuff I don't need.

I like Catherine Sarah's suggestion not to go alone. I wish I could act on it, but I don't really have female friends who like shopping.

I also hated it as male. Now I love it.

Hopefully I have female friends to go shopping, and it's a wonderful experience, just trying clothes is fun  ;D even if I still try to not to look to much at the mirror.

I don't think it's a natural thing, it's just a personal taste. But it's easier to enjoy buying clothes on your true gender.

I love to go shopping.  I just hate the thought that I have no money to spend, haha.

It's kind of the same feeling I get from going to pick out a new game to buy.  Except now there's so many more choices!

is it natural for ladies to enjoy shopping for clothes / shoes?
Its the most natural thing in the world if your a woman, I absolutely love shopping for clothes, specially for shoes and makeup, lipstick etc.

I like Catherine Sarah's suggestion also, I go shopping with my sister-in-law once a month, sometimes more often if the need arises, but we do keep that monthly shopping date, I value her opinion on style and fashion, its always a great girly day out, very therapeutic.

Well no guy likes shopping, myself & sister-in-law would have to practically drag our hubbies along, but they are sensible guys, they stay clear of that sort of thing, they let us girls get on with it, I don't like to stereotype, but its still is very much a girl thing.

Being relatively new to my acceptance as being female, is it natural for ladies to enjoy shopping for clothes / shoes? When I get something in the mail or get home form the store, I am always excited at the new lady things I got and am excited to try them on. From the outside, it seems like a horrible stereotype for women. Was just curious what the view of the collective was on the subject of shopping in general.

I think it depends on the individual I know a small handful of women that hate shopping. Myself on the other hand........ I LOVE IT... I love shopping! It's like a addiction for me. That and make up are my things. I enjoy staying trendy with the seasonal trends. Matching outfits. Adding accessories for that extra flair and finding that perfect pair of heels to match my outfit.

I have a obsession with purses too just has not developed quite yet because my money has been going towards my new wardrobe. Once I get to a comfortable level of clothes; I'm going to start my purse collection. Right now I just have one multi colored coach purse, and a michael kors cross body for busy outtings like a night at the bar. I have my eyes on a few new michael kors styles that are out. Would love to get a neutral colored brown purse or neutral colored orange purse.

As stated I love it all! My TV show that's the bible for me is Fashion Police. I absolutely adore that show. I use to hate Joan but she is sooo funny.

So do your thang missy and enjoy your shopping!!! You can now that's the beautiful thing!

I did love shopping for clothes until I started to put on heaps of weight a long time ago.  So for years I'd just look at them quickly as I passed by shops and only buy what was needed, mainly big plus sizes.  Blah.

But now I've been working out and losing lots of weight and toning up I've started to go shopping again rekindling the love affair I used to have.  Still have to resist the urge to buy too much though as clothes quickly become too big.

In fact I'm resisting the urge to go shopping right now!

I don't love clothes shopping and I don't hate it. It's just something I have to do from time to time. I need to buy shoes, socks, jeans and underwear soon.

Meh...

Mee to a tee  ;D

However I hate shopping malls. I guess being born and raised in NJ, the birthplace also of shopping mega malls, has a bit to do with it. Waaaay too crowded and worse are the mothers pushing the sacred fruit of their loins around in carriages expecting the sea of humanity to part as if their name was Moses. Then give you crap when they run you over!

To prevent spending too much I love thrift shops. You can go crazy buying stuff you aren't so sure about and not feel bad weeks later when you have second thoughts about the purchase.

After a lifetime of not being able to buy the stuff I wanted and therefore hating shopping, now I love it because I can finally buy what I want instead of what will arouse the least suspicion.

I like to window shop, and I love to get new things but I don't go too crazy.  Only thing that turns me off to shopping is trying things on,  I find the process to be laborious which is why I usually don't unless I really like it or will be going in with like 5 things.

Yes thrift stores!

We have a real nice one here in town that raises money for the local hospice thru their thrift store chain, I go in there often to buy old blankets to wrap my finished art projects in, once I walked pass the skirts and jeans isle and saw all sorts of designer brand skirts for $3.50!! And brand name jeans and shorts for $4.00 or so.
I always end up coming home with some cute things :)

What was the topic again?  I was distracted by the boots in the window. ;)

I shop, therefore I am.

It's crazy how much energy is zapped from shopping. Having a coffee after seems like a great idea... I don't even like coffee but the feeling after has gotta be one of the most intense drains out there. And usually oh, so worth it.

+1 to shopping with a friend!

Absolutely Jennygirl There is NO OTHER WAY to shop than with other girls. (FULL STOP)

It's like putting your shoes on and not doing up the laces. Having toast without jam, Milo without milk, day without night, hot without cold.
