Relationship with Toilet Paper

So lately I've been giving toilet paper some thought. Mostly because my spouse likes to punish me for past transgressions by leaving just the last bit on the roll in our bathroom and not checking to see if there is another roll in the little extra-roll storage bin. In those moments whilst I shout out for relief, I've realized that while I've always appreciated the stuff for its rear end applications, I never fully appreciated the differences between the cheap stuff they have at work and the very nice brand we buy for the home.

The cheap stuff at work is really cheap, like disintegrates with the slightest application of wetness. This is problematic at best and requires a new found dexterity to work with to the point that I often curse at it for the pale imitation of toilet paper that it is. It can be frustrating to say the least.

And, then there is the extra costs as much more of it is in use that before and I sometimes pause to consider what women did in the before times and I wish I had a fancy Japanese toilet seat with a built-in bidet and a dryer. And I think about Demolition Man and the "three shells" and I'm sure a man wrote the script because there would be no way...well, you know.

So how about you? Do you have a newfound respect/admiration/hate &c &c for this very necessary item? What would you do in a zombie apocalypse?

Just something I was thinking about while waiting for my spouse to bring in a new roll...

I can't stop laughing at the last line

I've always appreciated better TP. you use less of it because you need less, so the price evens out and my butt doesn't want to murder everyone.

I don't mind paying a little more for my Charmin extra soft.

The softer, the more absorbent.  And that is something we women and the guys think about.  Plus you don't irritate the bum or any hemorrhoids.

And as a general rule, softer is more expensive.

One thing I've noticed is this: the cheaper the TP the restaurant/store/office/school uses, the less likely they are to have any at all. Could they get any cheaper?

I do indeed enjoy my choise for my disposable toiletries , I prefer cottonelle. I enjoy it so much I banned my room-mates from using it on fear of running out because of them (they seem to use it a very often) i am sure I will apreciate my T.P. even more now that I am post-op  :D

Don't forget being post op you use a LOT more TP than you did before.  So, when you are using more, the quality matters more  ;D

TP woes, certainly!  I am so hoping that I don't end up dripping wet for ever.  I've gone to the point of filling a syringe with warm water to rinse before the TP.   That cheap stuff must be dabbed, not rubbed.   Otherwise, much of it sticks.  Yeah - just gross.  I am beginning to think that most things in the world were designed by men with zero empathy for the opposite sex.

Just in case you're wondering, there may be shortages of Charmin Ultra.  Don't be caught without!
