Hi! This is my first post so I don't really know how this works but I'll give it a go. I am a teenage cis girl in the Dallas area and my boyfriend wants to be a girl. I am totally supportive of this, but we don't really know where to start. I'm pretty sure we need to find a therapist that specializes in transgender, but I have no idea where to start looking or even what to look for or how to know if someone is good. Any recommendations for therapists or doctors in the Dallas area would be appreciated. His (is it bad to use male pronouns if he is still a boy? I'm sorry if it is.) parents don't know but recently kicked him out for unrelated reasons, so he can't really afford therapy right now. Are there places that can help him out? He is staying with a friend but they don't know either. My mom knows and is fully supportive and has even offered to help him with health insurance but I don't think it covers therapy and hormones and stuff does it? This is kind of all over the place. I was just wondering if anyone has advice for someone who is just starting the transition process and everything, and how to find a good doctor.
