Such Is Life [for the trans-person]

Kia Ora,

To be transgender some might say-
Tis just a phase, it will pass away

But alas, this really is not so-
These feelings just won't let you go

Perhaps it's just a habit that one can kick
A purging of clothes might do the trick

But alas no, this just won't do
This desire to dress has a tight grip on you

Those thoughts that flow through the head-
Often bring feelings of despair and dread

One might pray to a god to make one change-
" God, either body or mind, please rearrange "

But there's a note from god on their closet shelf-
Which reads 'God helps those who help themself !'

It's sad I know,  but a fact of life-
Gender dysphoria for some, means anxiety and strife

This faulty wiring in the brain
Is enough to drive one insane

But there is a way out of all this mental woe
Just embrace your feelings and go with the flow!

If you go with what 'is' and not against the grain
Perhaps with HRT you'll start to feel sane !
