Things I like about Myself.

So, like the 'I love my life' thread, we spend a whole lot of time focusing on the things that we hate about ourselves (or, at least I do). Things that trigger our dysphoria. I'm t minus three hours from coming out to my mom and instead of focusing on the negative I want to remind myself that, despite everything, there are things about myself I do like.

1. My skin.

My god, I have baby soft skin. I would have never had known that if my dysphoria at one point had gotten so bad that I had to do something about it so I ended up shaving my arms and hands. Underneath all that fur was beautiful, freckled skin. I don't know why I love freckles so much, but I do, and I was so giddy to discover that I had them. Keep in mind that I'm pre-HRT so this is just how my testosterone laden skin naturally is.

2. My eyes.

It's telling when your optometrist gets her assistants to have them take a look at your eyes. I wish I could take a picture of them that will come out showing them off. They're these bands of gold, blue and green all kind of woven together, and are really quite spectacular.

Anyway. there. That made me feel a little better.

1. My ability to talk to absolutely anyone, like the people in front of, and behind me in line at the store.

2. My inability to see that some people get really uncomfortable talking to a complete stranger in line at the store!

1. I love my literary nature. I just love reading! Retention of information though is the trickier bit, lol.

2. I love the fact that I try to be genuine as much as possible. If I do anything wrong, I'll be the first to apologise. :)

1. I love how I am able to forgive people and move on in life

2. I love how my legs are really hairy despite not being on T

3. I love how my arms and shoulders are getting defined the more I lift weights

4. I love how I am able to stick to my workout schedule 99% of the time  :D

I love my intelligence, I like that I can almost always have an answer for my friends questions and my brain kind of functions like an encyclopedia at times.

I love my muscles. I've been an exercise addict on and off and you can tell in my upper arms and my legs. I've always been physically strong and it was a huge point of pride when I was young. Less so now, mostly because I can't really compete with bio guys my age, no matter how strong I am. I always look lanky compared to them, but that's cool. I've been told it's part of my charm  ;)

My face structure. It's pretty androgynous, and it's always kind of been that way. When I was like 12 or so my best friend/not girlfriend *ahem*  ::) used to say my face made me look like "a really pretty boy"  :P

My sense of humor. Not everyone's cup of tea, but I've got the dry sarcastic but playful thing down. And I've got a witty comeback for pretty much everything. Only with people I know pretty well though. Until then I'm awkward and serious

That's awesome - I like to joke that "God did not give me all the answers for nothing" when my friends ask odd questions.  Are you good with trivia?

Me: I like my brain...and my legs.

Thread necromancy, I bid thee.... ARISE!

So. I finally got a good picture of one of my eyes.

Look at it! Isn't that awesome?

Smooth shaved legs, nice shopping trip, trying on new clothes to help fill in the wardrope. A woman can never have too many clothes/shoes/earrings/wigs, etc. to change her mood for the time of day or evening.

Big week next week, hopefully I'll pick where I left things a while back with therapist so I can resume HRT asap.

Excited for now & feel great, looking better. I hope the pleasant feelings last a lifetime from now forward but I know there will be lots of bumpy rocks in the road ahead.

Wow that is quite an eye!

I love my soft, soft skin. And boobies!

1. I like my insane sense of humor, and how I can make a joke out of just about anything. (Not always PG-13, though.)

2. I like having above-average intelligence. I wouldn't say I'm particularly smart because everyone's intelligent in their own way, but I like how my brain processes information. The speed isn't bad, either.

3. I take pride in being one of the most honest people I know. I may not always be nice, but I'm almost always honest.

4. I like my ability to become fast friends with pretty much any animal.
I did my waiting! Twelve years of it! In [my head!] Azkaban!

1. I'm creative

2. I'm multi-talented

3. I like to learn new things and share the knowledge I've acquired

4. I'm empathetic (sometimes this isn't the greatest thing, but I really can't imagine myself any other way)

5. I have great eyes

6. There's people in my life who think I'm good looking (hey that's always a good thing right?)

- I can always joke about myself and my issues.

- I've been through absolute unrelenting darkness for years and come out the other side.

- And that I've learned that the little things are important in life, being able to feel the sunshine and able to run without ending up on crutches for weeks afterwards.

- Most importantly, I'm alive.

That is important! You're also kind of cute :)

This kinda stuff is where I generally suck at. It's hard for me to compliment myself but I'll give it a try. :D

- I like being artistic. I started out playing with play-doh stuff when I was just 2,5 years old and because of that I'm still quite a wizard when it comes to everything clay-related.
When I was 13, I started drawing actively and in this year's December it'll be 10 years since I started. I've been writing - originals and fanfics - longer than I've been drawing but the visual art has taken over the literature.
I always tend to bash my own creations but every now and then I go over my artworks and think "Hey, this is actually pretty damn good". :)

- I like how I've become more social. This is all thanks to my transitioning. Seriously, starting T has given me a huge confidence boost, and passing and going stealth is just amazing.

- I don't know if this sounds stupid but I like the relationship I have with my Mom. It's something many have wondered over the years. We even shared one of those friendship necklaces, y'know the heart you can split with your friend. My elementary school class mates actually laughed at me when I told Mom has the other half but I didn't give a damn.
She's my only parent, raised me completely on her own. She's an authority figure and role model to me but despite of all that, she still manages to be one of my best friends in this whole world.

I like myself because I'm taking better care of my body & face. I've just resumed HRT & feel great about enjoying MY life, not the life others sometimes wanted me to have.

Also glad my nails are getting longer. I've always felt my best with 10 nicely manacured nails.

Thinking about plastic surgery for my face, since an older woman it may be time for a face lift. I've had some plastic surgery before, it takes time to heal however in the long run it was well worth the effort.

I love my new Inner Peace, and my vastly improved personality since I am finally who I should have been for all of my life.

Berti
MTF progressing towards her final stages of transition. Next up is my facial and body surgery; then my final transition to being a total woman! Been a long & hard fought journey but in the end, it has definately been worth the wait  ;D[/left]

Shodan your iris looks like a mandala. I could get lost for hours with all the beautiful colors.

Well, I've got a long way to go, but so far...

My legs and my butt - especially so after starting cardio again. They have always been my best feature.
My nails - I used to chew them incessantly. Now they are longer and stronger (yummy gummy calcium supplements!) I no longer destroy them.
My smile - I tend to use it a lot.

I know, right? The first time my optometrist saw it she immediately went and got her assistant to look at it. It's just too bad my eyes are really squinty so you don't get to see it for the most part unless you get up close.
