Seminar will look at lives of transgendered

The Cape Cod Chapter of PFLAG (Parents and Friends of Lesbians, Gays, Bisexuals and Transgenders) will host "The Who, What, Why and How of Being Transgender" from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. April 6 at Cape Cod Community College.
A registration fee of $20 is due by Friday.
The conference will discuss "transgender basics, myths and facts, as well as the unique hardships of gender nonconforming children, youth and young adults," according to a PFLAG statement.
Speakers will include a social worker who oversees an LGBT mentoring program, a clinical psychologist and several transgender people and families of transgenders.
PFLAG has seen an increased number of transgender people and their families at recent monthly support meetings, according to the statement.
