i really do the thrift stores. You can get some really good deals. You don't see too many extra smalls. But sometimes I can find the boys 18-20 which sometimes work. It is pretty much all in the brands.

I get a hair cut every month I used to dress in very loose clothes. Now I stand around in front of the mirror. Very funny for me as this is just not how I ever was. I think I got a hair cut every 3 months.

Btw, re: the extra small shirts. Have my doubts. I am building up muscle in the shoulder and back. A couple of my shirts I bought in the fall no longer fit.

This is totally me now too lol. Today I spent an hour and a half polishing my leather shoes. o_O if you'd told me i'd be doing something like that, and enjoying it, 10 years ago I would have called you nutters. I discovered victorian dress right around the time I started to transition so I kind of embraced the very proper British male look. The men will give you a second look too ;)

I love a good pair of shoes and polishing them just right is an art!  And I actually iron my clothes now.  Before that I never once bothered, now I'm all about crisp and clean unless I'm going for a more casual messy look which I sometimes do depending on where I'm going.  If my parents could ever come around to this transition I think they'd actually grow to prefer me as a man.  I scrub up nice these days and make an effort :P

Good to know that others developed some vanity too.  As a female I actually avoided mirrors.  Now I have all my hair products all lined up ready to go in front of my bathroom mirror. and I even straighten my hair to get the perfect look.  That messy hair style isn't a get out of bed and go look at all, it takes a lot of hard work to sculpt that awesomeness!

Also, if you have muscles in the shoulder and back, show them off!  If you're worried about skinny arms, give them something else to focus on.  When dressing look to draw people's eyes away from areas you don't like, so in your case accentuate the shoulders and use graphics, waistcoats or over shirts to disguise your chest.

And if you're building up muscle there, try and add in some wrist and arm curls to bulk up your biceps and some dips to build up the triceps and that'll help even it all out.
