QuoteSIMPLE JOYS HAVE A SIMPLE VOICE
IT SAYS TIME'S LIVING'S PRIZE
AND WOULDN'T YOU
RATHER BE A LEFT-HANDED FLEA
A CRAB ON A SLAB ON THE BOTTOM OF THE SEA
A NEWT ON THE ROOT OF A BANYAN TREE
OR A FIG ON A TWIG IN GALILEE
THAN A MAN WHO NEVER LEARNS HOW TO BE FREE
NOT TILL THE DAY
NOT TILL THE DAY
NOT TILL THE DAY
NOT TILL THE DAY HE DIES!
- Pippin

This song has been in my head today. Perhaps if you are much younger than me, you've never heard it. I encourage you to look on YouTube and fine the song, sung by the amazing Ben Vereen. It never fails to make me happy.

Now when I hear it, however, I am able to truly enjoy the simple joys of life. Just taking a shower is a simple joy. Riding a bike on a warm day with my children. Heck, eating an orange. My life thus far has been overly complicated. One thing we don't think about while we are transitioning is the end of it and what that will be.

And what is it to me? Freedom. I've become free to enjoy the simple joys.
