Clothes you are uncomfortable with wearing?

I like to shop at thrift stores & really just buy everything in my size. Then just slowly see if it feels & looks good on me. It is fun & the total cost is minimum. I return any unused clothes.

The workers are very nice to me & they make me nicer deals on clothes that are not priced.

They can usually tell I'm not a natural woman however they are always helpful & nice to me.

I have a weird aversion to foam, as in the type of foam you might find in padded bras, or a mattress topper. It completely destroys me to touch it, and I don't know why. My skin just hates it.

Any type of hosier (pantyhose, nylon stockings, etc) does the exact same thing. I wouldn't be uncomfortable wearing them beyond that bizarre reaction I have to them, as I've worn thigh high cotton socks with skirts in the winter... I really wish it didn't do that to me.

Denim vests or shirts. I want to run myself over!!

Other things.. cowboy boots and/or hats.. my work polo shirts.. MAXI DRESSES!!!

Honey, does anyone REALLY look good in a polo shirt?  ???

Full disclosure: I own several for both genders...though not claiming I actually look good in any of them

Corsets! ;D Nah I love my corsets.
Sheer clothing and shorts. I really really hate shorts. Unless I'm sleeping in them (soft Hello Kitty shorts <3)
Watching the birds made me feel like taking a journey. The people, the landscapes, everything was imperfect but beautiful.

So many great replies. But I know we have a lot more active members who haven't played yet, so play. Hey, even if you're fine with anything, say it. After that thread yesterday, which I won't lie it did bring me a lot of amusement, we are at the end of the day a support site and so I kinda wanted to start a let's get to know one another thread. We're so much more alike then different. And, if anything, the need and desire to be able to wear the clothes that reflect that gender of our brain is, IMO, the one thing that unites us.

I just got back from a bar (I drank two beers, don't worry) and my friend got a little weird since some random woman  said to me we made a cute couple and that my BF is cute. He got a little weird but he's cool. I still can't believe it. I mean I bought cover f/x from Sephora and asked the sales guy the best foundation to cover up beard shadow and then even tried some on! If you would told me two months ago that I would be able to walk into Sephora and try on makeup and then go to H&M and shop in the women's section witrhout people staring or running away and then buy panties, leggings and some really cute tops. I would've told you, you're nuts. Sorry for the tangent I just can't believe it! Shopping in the women's section is something I've dreamed of since I was around age 10/11. And just to think last night I cried myself to sleep because I didn't think I could do any of this and that I need to face reality that I'll never look like a girl, never have a BF or anything and that the best I'll ever be able to do is find a butch GF because the only time ive ever really been happy is when i was engaged to this pretty butch girl. But then today happened. OMG WOW! Like just wow.

Anyhoo, let's hear some more responses. And I'll tell you why i don't like colored skinny jeans: cuz I feel like I look like an out-of-place superhero who didn't get the memo that we wear our underwear on the outside hehehe

I don't like swearing sleeveless shirts. Even after many many years I'm self conscious in that area. Same thing god for skirts and dresses since I don't like my big duck feet. All pure craziness on my part, though, I'm sure. :) I wear trouser suits to work, and I have a good shape a least.

Men's or women's trouser suits? Either way, they're totally fun workwear. And if you have a good shape, if you don't wear women's, maybe find some more unisex ones, unless it's a very socially conservative workplace, then stick with what you're doing.

Women's. I transitioned over 10 years ago... Women's trouser suits are reasonably flattering, although skirt suits do look even more shapely. Since I work in IT trousers are best most of the time - I only do skirt suits for the occasional interview or very important meeting. Then everyone laughs since they didn't know I owned any. :)

Bikini bottom. I am far too worried about something being seen. Aside from that I have not found anything that I am not comfortable wearing. Granted I get physically uncomfortable with some of my heels, but they are just so cute!!

I would just die if I had to wear a Hillary Clinton style pantsuit!!   Ugh!

Or "scrubs", my spouse is in the medical field and she wears the pants around the house as pajamas sometimes, I just couldn't do that, lol

I do luv my mini skirts, tight skinny jeans and form fitting tops and I'm getting better with sleeveless things lately.

I feel just the opposite, which was completely unexpected when I began experimenting with clothes that work best. Anything with sleeves gets me clocked right away. Halter tops work best for me. Long sleeves is a disaster for me.

Long sleeves for an older person are a girl's best friend because the skin on the inside of the arms gets a crepe-like appearance due to age and I can assure you that you'll all get there soon enough. :'(
When dressing girly one has to consider the problem areas and dress around them just as cis females do who want to look good. We don't wear a wide belt if we have a big waist as it only accentuates the problem like jeans with sparkles on the back side accentuates a butt problem. We don't wear empire waistlines if we have a big chest and broad shoulders, and we don't wear 14" skirts or Daisy Duke cut-off jeans even if we do have dynamite legs because we're not 14 anymore and don't want everyone around us to say, "Oh look, there's a man in a skirt!"  :icon_peace:

I dislike mini skirts, pencil skirts, and yoga pants they all look really terrible on me!

Any top that shows an part of my chest, neck, back, upper arms or collar.

Yep, the only tops I wear are turtle necks.

Sometime before the hot weather, I'll have to shave my chest, upper arms, shoulders, neck, collar, etc. I'll also have to find a way to clear my upper back (professional wax?) since there is not way I can shave back there.

I'm looking forward to having the hair cleared but not to the weekly shaving chore it will bring.
Have you read my short story The Eve of Triumph?

There is a lot of things I won't wear. But the main one is dresses for now I love them but just don't feel like I have the body for one. And the fact my family is somehow convinced that's all I wear I don't know where they get that idea from but they do. So I avoid dresses altogether for the time being.

No problemo fo sho lo if people want to post what they're most comfy wearing, then go ahead. As long as it isn't sweatpants. When i become President, my first order of business will to pass an executive order outlawing sweatpants in public...and PJ bottoms lol

I have to admit that nothing nowadays is as bad as it was in the 1980's.

I'm firmly of the opinion that the 1980's was the worst decade in recent history to be transgendered..

I mean, like clothing in flourescent colours? T-shirts with large words written on them like 'Freedom' and 'Choose life'..

Then there was mullets, rat tails in hair, oh and not forgetting perms.

Shell suits anyone?

Then you had stone-washed and acid-washed denim, jeans with rips in them, clothes with fringes, Pringle sweaters, pencil skirts, skirts with slits in them.

Not to mention leg warmers, ski pants (or stirrup pants if you prefer), and Moon boots.

Wish we still had 1980's music though.

I hate that shoulder pads seem to be coming back. I needed some more suits for work lately and I'll need to take them to the tailor and get those things taken out.
