I was just wondering, currently I am on blockers and am due to start E next year. I was just wondering what form the E is in?LOL I know it is pretty pointless to wonder but just curious :3 thnks

I don't know what is used in the UK, maybe Padma, or Spacial, or the other British members can comment.

It seems the thinking these days focuses on the bioidentical medications (such as 17 beta estradiol), and less on older meds like Premarin.

Padma

I can't remember what the tablets were that I started out with (which didn't work), but most of the women I know in the UK are using an estradiol gel - either Sandrena, or (in my case) Estrogel - or patches. Much less strain on the liver, not taking it orally. I find the gel pretty convenient, even though I have to apply it twice a day. I can't do patches because they make my skin break out.

I know someone who gets them on the NHS and she gets Estradiol Valerate tablets.  They don't seem to have 17b here (estrace/estrofem).  The doctor is fairly clueless, though, and you can get them to give you what you want...
