Is there a difference in men's and women's multi- vitamins? I compared the two labels and only one or two vitamins were different , with the women's being slightly higher or lower in some. I bought the Men's One A Day Pro Edge for Athletes. This wont hurt me will it?? I'm not on T yet

I started taking men's vitamins before I started T ... about a year ... I asked my doctor and she said it was no problem and that it might actually boost my own T levels

It definitely won't hurt you.  There are just some vitamins your average woman's body needs more than your average man's body and visaversa.  So if your average woman tends to be more iron deficient than your average man, they'll put more iron in the "women's" vitamins.  Since everyone's body is different, it doesn't mean anyone is going to necessarily line up with those statistics.  As long as your multivitamin has the stuff that's really important for everyone, you should be fine.  Do some research online and try to find what's right for your particular body or ask your doctor.
In between the lines there's a lot of obscurity.
I'm not inclined to resign to maturity.
If it's alright, then you're all wrong.
Why bounce around to the same damn song?

The most important difference is the amount of iron. You'll be fine because men's vitamins have less iron in them, women's have more.

If this were the reverse, someone on T still wanting to take the women's vitamins for whatever reason, I'd say absolutely don't (unless there is NO iron in it). Because after you're on T, your iron goes right where it should be from the increased red blood cells. So any more iron than that could be quite dangerous. If you ever got way too much while being on T (exactly what taking women's vitamins would do to you over a period of time), the only way to get rid of it quickly enough would be bloodletting (or taking some units out of you)... wouldn't be nice.

Actually, come to the heart of the matter, I don't feel a good vitamin for either gender should have iron in it at all. That should be a prescribed thing only if you actually don't have a regular amount... because too much really is very dangerous. Even when I wasn't on T, despite my excessive... female problems (I mean like the whole month kind of problems)... my iron was always normal, and without me taking multivitamins.

I think it's more of a marketing thing than anything. I wouldn't care re: iron. If you stop shark week you won't loose blood anyway, but I think this loss is much ado out of nothing anyway as FAABs are supposed to do this. There once was a thought that low energy was due to low iron-- not supported by any research.

If your iron drops to the point of you being anaemic, then low energy is a symptom.  I've known at least two anaemic people, and this was definitely a symptom, and I know that at least one of them was put onto birth control to prevent the monthly loss of iron through that blood.  However, unless you're anaemic you shouldn't have any lethargy problems from your iron.  You've been living without extra iron from vitamins for X amount of years, so I can't see the harm in taking the male vitamins and getting less iron from.  I know that taking something designed for females would mess with my head, so I'd rather take the male ones if I was going to take something.
