Hey does anyone know how to choose the right sports bra?

Also how to I keep it hidden while out in public?

If I buy one - it would be my first bra ever... :icon_redface:

When I wanted to hide my chest, I bought a hanes seamless sports bra. To size it, I got one that was one size smaller than the chart recommended. It worked great! But, as things got bigger it really started to hurt. So, just be aware of that.

Ouch! Thinking about binding makes my chest hurt.

Title 9 Sports has some great sports bras.  If you buy one that pulls over your breasts, it will hide them pretty well even up to a small B, as long as you aren't wearing a tight top.  People see what they want to see...

It hurt so bad. I had B cups too, which made it that much worse.

Sports bras are sized S,M,L,XL,XXL(Plus size) and the cups are either A/B or C/D. For hiding your boobs, you want a "compression" sports bra. Most manaficturers have what is called seemless sports bras. They aren't toatally semless, but under a dark & loos fitting shirt its about as close to "seemless" as possible. Also, try and buy the "yoke" type verses the cross back type.

You can buy these online if you don't feel like going to a store.

is there some sort of chart which could tell me which waist size means what?

from what I've read this differs from country and cities and brands...

I've had good luck with the off-the-rack sports bras sized for me.  I wear large shirts women's (Medium in mens) and have found medium sports bras tight but tolerable and large bras somewhat comfortable.  Both hid the girls well enough - but I'm barely past an A cup at the moment.  It's really more for my mental well-being and to not give the appearance of "moobs" or showing how cold I think it is in the office.

As others have said, wear loose dark clothes and ensure that there are no seams or any "fabric effects' on the bra that will show through.

With a loose black shirt no one has ever noticed on me.

Sizes vary by company, but this should help....

I got a custom fit Enell Lite.  My partner wears the Enell Sport which she likes better.   If you need support, they are the ticket.

And it is interesting: the Enell gives you cleavage like a maniac, even if your breasts are wide set.  Incredible.  Everything is covered up -- it is a huge bra -- but I can see my cleavage when I put it on.  I spoke to their custom fitter over the phone about it, and she says it is in the design of the bra.  It brings all your side breast tissue around to the front, and BAM, cleavage.  I wanted to get a similar design in a non-sport bra, but she would not tell me the exact design feature because it is proprietary, patented, all that.

I am getting larger now, and even my shape is flattened out with the Lite.  The Sport does even more.  So if you are not that large yet, it will not look like you are wearing a bra.  From the back, it looks like you are wearing a tank undershirt, not a Bali Flower.  :D

Anyway, that'd be my advice regarding sports bras.

Here is the Enell chart,

The Enell site http://enell.com/get-fit is very informative, and their custom fitter can get your size narrowed down properly.  She works over the phone and will send you one or two bras in the mail to try out.  Eventually, you get the combination you need, like a size 4 back and size 6 cups.

My partner and I both wear Enell.  It is good.
