Studying Christianity...

I thought I would never say this, but I think I'm actually studying about Christianity again.

Now, I'm just trying to find a good church group to be part of!

If you are in Canada, the Anglican Church Of Canada has a good reputation for being welcoming to GLBT people.  There are many clergy who do solemnize same sex marriages, and at least one priest is in such a relationship. You may need to find out which parishes are better than others on that though.  The Anglican Church Of Canada and the Episcopal Church in the U.S. are in a bit of a doghouse with the rest of the worldwide Anglican Communion over the GLBT issues, so they must be doing something right.  The theology of the church is NOT fundamentalist and has a wide loose range on the subject of where the Bible stands in things, but they are also a church that welcomes the role of human thought and reason.  They would be a good place,  You do not have to leave your brains at the church door. Check their websites for local churches.

That's not a bad suggestion Vicky. Episcopal/Anglican are such a broad church, tolerant to so many diverse ideas, they may be absolutely perfect.

Thanks Vicky! I'll try that out. I've been trying to figure out which church to attend, since I came from a Catholic background. I know that there is a queer friendly churches here, but all three of them are Evangelical and born-again, and that theology doesn't sit with me!

Thank you Shawn for the resource. It's so sad that so many Christian groups still have a hard time on homosexuality!

Maybe I will visit the Quakers at least once. One friend of mine also recommended them to me, and to try it at least once!
