Apologies if this has been talked to death.

Just downloaded and am currently playing this one.

Reached lev 4, finished Calder Cob and back to Strider.

Anyhoo, wondering if anyone else plays it?

Anything to say?

The graphics are really quite amazing. Gonna have to wait to see what the limitations are for it's business strategy.

Not much of an update. I started a new Elf character and am really loving LOTRO.

But still trying to figure out so much. Such as, the charging system. :D

Haven't played in a few years, but my characters are still there waiting for me. The game is amazing!

Just discovered that there is a monstor side to play as well.

You only get an orc, it starts at Lev 85. It tends to get killed quite easily by various free people players, including Lev 85s on a PVP. The free players are referred to as Freeps.

The objective is to improve rank, which presumably will improve survivability. But it is very challanging, not least finding where you are suppose to go.

Currently playing a Rune Keeper. My hunter is at lev 40. But fancied something a little less down to earth.

I haven't played in a while, I have a couple of characters I liked hopping around on. I always preferred moping around on my own, people just don't reach very high levels that way. :p I think my highest is a lvl 18-19 hunter.

Went and got me a ticker, so everytime I post I'm reminded to put down whatever I was about to eat. >.>

Me and my wife used to play the hell out of this game, to the point where I've got a lifetime sub on it. We switched our servers over to  Silverlode a while back, but I am in charge of an unused guild on Llandroval that I'm willing to use as the unofficial Susan's LOTRO guild, if you guys are so inclined. :D

Sadly, not on either of those servers.

It's a shame that in most of these games, there are so many servers.

The idea of a transgender Kinship is really good though.

I started to play again. But I'm at Laurelin, which is the old EU server. To my horror however, it seems that my account was hacked, as my two old toons don't have any gold with them. All gone :(

Hopefully there will be a server merge someday, so we can start the transgender kinship.

I hate server merges. They ruined my fave characters on Aion that way, they gave the characters a suffix to show what server they were from, and a free name change, but when I became aware and went to fix their names, someone else had already snatched them up. What can I say, I was really attached to those names.

*sniffles*

Since i'm in the gaming section, a quick update.

I currently play 4 characters, partly because I wanted to try Runekeeper, Lortemaster and Minstrel.

Mostly playing the Minstrel, which is a hobbit, currently at about 45 and the hunter, an elf at lev 48. I mention it because I started the hobbit fairly recently and spent a lot of time on it. I logged into the hunter and met an online friend, asking where I've been and why I'm still at lev 48 and she is at lev 58?

On the plus side, I have tried out several and to be honest, really prefer the hobbit minstrel. Besides being a tough little thing, enormously cute, it also has a self heal facility. Plus it can heal others. Though mainly individually, rather than the general heal of RuneKeeper.

Anyway, apart from keeping up to date with professions, I intend to concentrate on the hobbit now. I am absolutely determined to get at least one of my charaters into Lothlorain.

In need of some technical support, and wanting to have the preimium areas made available, I started a subscription. It's just some funds which have been lying around in a Paypal account for a few years. Once that's run out I'll be back to freetime.

Then yesterday, things went wrong. My graphics card destroyed itself. I've ordered a new one, this morning, but it will take a cpouple of days to get here.

In the mean time. I'm using my wife's Laptop. It can log into LOTRO, but its so slow, hardly worth it. So, becoming increasingly bored.

When I first started the Hobbit, I spent a while trying to figure out the music system, hopefully with a view to writing something. I have mananged to write a drum solo called Lone Lands Roll.

If anyone would like a copy, please say and I'll post it here.

I've stopped playing LOTRO as of yesterday.

I was really enjoying it. The graphics are fun. The chat is good. I finally found a group, (Kinship in LOTRO), which I liked.

Then came the kicker. I reached a certain level and find I need to buy one off, expansion packs to continue. Buying these will cost about £80. Plus I still need to buy the monthly subscription o £10 pm to maintain that position.

If I lived in the USA, I could buy the sub for half price. I could get special offers on the expansions, saving a fortune. But I don't and I can't.

Really happy for Americans. But I'm sorry to say, you'll be doing this alone. Because I won't be paying that sort of money.

I played it for a while, but it couldn't keep my interest.

Wow, that's lame.  :(

Yeah, it's unfortunate you have to pay to progress. Before i had subbed, i bought the mithril edition, it came with some tp coins, so i was able to purchase another expansion pack when it was on sale. I then gained enough tp through playing, and spent that on unlocking another zone or two. I managed to get to the max level, but it was a little difficult at times finding a party. I don't know what the end-game consists of, i am not one to do end-game stuff, i just create alternative characters. I played before Riders of Rohan came out, i might check it out one day.

OK. I have to come back onto this and holding my cloth cap in my hand,
looking very sheepish and feeling not a little silly, confess that a couple
of days ago, I found an offer, which applies to the UK, where I could
buy the extensions for a fraction of the original price.

Long and short is, bought them, playing again and, well, but, hmmmmm.

All I can seriously say is, it's fun.

It's a fantastic game and I've had great fun on it. It is to this day the only other mmo besides WoW that manages to hook me in longer than the first 30 day trial period. Ofc its now free so you don't have to worry about sub.

I had thought about coming back recently but I'm waiting for Final Fantasy XIV at the end of August.

What server are you on? I highly recommend Brandywine.
Farewell to my friends, farewell to the life I knew. I burn what once was, and in the ashes I am born anew.
