My hair is not good to me. I don't dress as a girl often in public right now (I'm hoping to change that this summer) but I'd like some general suggestions to keep in mind. I want to grow my hair like Mary Travers from Peter Paul and Mary (I like my bangs) but am not sure if the hair I have right now is workin' for me, pass-wise (albeit it's kind of messy in this picture, which I took on a whim earlier tonight).

I don't really know a thing about makeup. I don't see myself as a kind of girl who would spend hours on her face. Is there any quick (but cute) makeup looks that would work for me? Not a lot of girls at my school wear makeup so I don't really want to stand too far out, if you undahstand meh.

(btw, I'm not really trying in this pic - I'm still in the sort of "experimental" stages right now, look-wise)
Thanks!

You are super cute! You don't need a lot of make up try some warm earth/brown or olive green eye shadow, mascara, brown eye liner, mascara and clear lip gloss.Practice makes perfect,it can be done in 15/20 minutes.I think you would suit Mary's hairstyle mine is similair and you can do lots with it.Take a girl friend to buy some make up with and get a second opinion, good luck and best wishes

You're hair looks fantastic in the photo. I wish I had your hair. You're right about the great bangs. I would just grow the rest out to an agreeable below shoulder length. Mary Travers hair was always pretty straight, I think, so that look shouldn't be too hard to achieve.

Makeup is a big hassle to learn, but it's worth it to struggle with it until you're skilled at doing it. Then you can taper off and do just they stuff you need or for the occasion.

I agree with Kim, though. You're already a cuty.

Practice, practice, practice. That's the only way to figure out what will work for you. BTW, a lot of girls say they don't wear makeup but they really do. It's just a less is more approach. Ideally, you want people to think you're not wearing makeup when you really are. Also, you don't need to go overboard. Just try some foundation, lip gloss, maybe little blush, and some eyeliner + mascara. Pretty simple really. I could do my makeup in a couple minutes. Girls who spend hours in the bathroom are just primping for fun.

You hair is really quite pretty. I wouldn't change it if I were you other then growing it a bit longer.
