A few months ago, things were going pretty well with my mother, but as of late it seems like she's completely turning her back on anything transgender related and it really sucks. I recently turned 19, I have my T prescription and all I have to do is call my endo and say I'm coming in for my first shot. I'm so close, but I really would like to have my mothers support on this. I plan on sending her an email tonight saying everything that I'm feeling and trying to help her understand. Does anyone have any articles or websites for parents of transgender children that I could add to the email? Thanks so much.

Pflag, Parents and friends of lesbians and gays, has many articles also relating to trans people. Check it out and you may find it useful to share with your mother.

Big hug! Sorry it's not going so well. The lower left corner of the Wiki front page has some letters. Hugs, Devlyn

I found a great letter that a trans woman sent to her parents on Autostraddle. You should be able to find it under the gender section. I sent it to my mom, and she said it helped a lot.
