Hello everybody.
I'm a swiss 18 years old mtf trans. I recently made my coming out and all that stuff and am now decided to change. I went to speak to a psychiatrist, which is necessary to get hormones and then I went to see and endocrinologist. This one told me than in Switzerland, it's forbidden to be given hormones before the age of 25, to prevent youthful mistakes to happen, but she wasn't totally sure about that.
I spoke with many users about that on the internet, and some of them assured me hearing other swiss people having hormones before 25. One told me especially about a susans.org's user called "A" who would have got a treatment, and speaking about it.

Do you know something about the swiss law, or do you know this "A" ?

Thank you for reading.

If you need answers about Swiss law, you would be best off seeing a Therapist there.  We are not experts on foreign law.
Nameless here for evermore!;  Merely this, and nothing more;
Tis the wind and nothing more!;  Quoth the Raven, "Nevermore!!"

Hi internaltear,

You mentioned a "Swiss law" imposed on you by your doctor: "no hormones before age 25 in Switzerland". There is no such rule, much less law, in Switzerland. Moreover, the statement violates both the current state of the art in Switzerland, and international standards of care WPATH7 (you may google that).

Sometimes, there are good reasons for delaying transitioning, but then your caregiver should be frank about the reasons. Is your caregiver really well versed with transgender patients? Unfortunately, there are caregivers out there who have no clue about transgender issues. If you don't mind telling me who it is -- I'd really like to know.

Here are some caregivers well versed in TG topics.

Therapists:
Annika Sahlee, Zurich
Christa Gubler, Zurich
Thorsten Neynaber, Wädenswil

Endo:
Dr. Niklaus Flütsch, Zug

Hugs,
Bea

Thank you beabela, I'm gonna get information about the names you gave me. I don't live in this part of Switzerland but kilometers don't really care...
The endocrinologist you gave me is actually a gynecologist, can he also practice endocrinology ? I think he's recognized by the swiss psychiatrist, isn't he ?

Anyway, I'm gonna check it out :) Thanks
