So there was a thread in which going to parties was mentioned...I wanted to find an image of the meme "straight face", since that's how I tend to be at parties...during the search, I found an image with a character from Harry Potter about sarcasm, and posted it on another thread in which sarcasm was mentioned...that is, I posted it for about 2.3 seconds...

To me, it looks like I resemble this character.

Please tell me the truth.

:(

And any words of hope, if there are any. Or should I just walk away from this pic, and forgot I ever saw it?

Thanks.
...I think for most of us it is a futile effort to try and put this genie back in the bottle once she has tasted freedom...

I suppose there's some similarity in the features of you two. Snape has a certain look about him, though...

The similarities fade when you use a different/normal picture of him.

I love this guy.

NotThereYet

You look too girly to look like him. Maybe like his sister...

A much softer version. My ex-fiancee said I look like a much softer version Quentin Tarantino. And I said "you mean like his sister." Do which she replied "You said it not me." Of course she used to say I was a woman with a deformity (meaning I have a penis; but hopefully that deformiy will be corrected in a couple years). So, I'd say you resemble him like a sister.

And NotThereYet, you beat me do it. I'll get you for this lol jk >:-)

Thanks for the "sister" comments...I'd just begun telling myself (and believing...) that maybe I do look a little girlie, but then this came along...and OMG I'm ugly.

There was another thread in which a sketch artist drew a picture of a subject based on her self-description, then again based on an observer's description...I wish I could trust when others tell me I'm pretty or whatever...

It's just damn hard to believe sometimes.

There were a couple of threads like that.

The one I made didn't really take off though, unlike the second one..

That's what I really locked onto...I see myself in the morning, before I put on my face...make up does wonders for me, never leave home without it!!

Oh Beth, you don't look remotely like him. Sure he's got long dark hair an so do you, but the resemblance ends there.

When I see your face, I see kindness and caring, enthusiasm for life, (but a little bit of the sad edge of someone who's been through a lot). And yes, your avatar photo is a really good picture of you.

I see nothing of that in the picture you posted. Of course he's a famous actor whose job is to show in his face only what he wants you to see (though I've only seen him in really morose roles).
Have you read my short story The Eve of Triumph?

Oh my god! I never would have drawn that connection until you posted that but yes you do look very similar to Alan Rickman.

Don't feel bad though, everyone at my work says I look like Michael C. Hall  :P
"For transpeople, using the right pronoun is NOT simply a 'political correctness' issue. It's core to the entire struggle transpeople go through. Using the wrong pronoun means 'I don't recognize you as who you are.' It means 'I think you're confused, delusional, or mentally I'll.'. It means 'you're not important enough for me to acknowledge your struggle.'"

Beth, once you accept yourself, the world has no choice but to follow your lead.

Also, there are two guys in that picture, one of them is going broke on electrolysis!

Could be worse, Least your not Hagrid. But really, ehhhh, There are over a billion faces in the world, naturally you will see similarities. I think it's just the way both of your hair is framed and how that makes the forehead appear, along with the general length of the face. Because the nose, cheek, chin, and mouth are all not even close when you really inspect it.

Beth I see a few similarities. You both have two ears, two eyes, a nose, and a mouth. All kidding aside, I dont think that you look like him at all.

Well thanks ya'all...I'm in a much better frame of mind this morning (yesterday was a 12 hour shift) and now I know better.

It wouldn't matter even if I was his twin, it's the glow within that makes a person attractive or not. I've only recently discovered my own "glow", and hope to just burst into flame soon...err...that didn't sound right, but you know what I mean.

I think my mind was a little bit self-critical yesterday, because I had a passenger (she was English) who "suggested" that I tone down the somewhat exuberant girlie-ness behaviors...LOL, I'm not flamboyant or that, more like a happy high school girl (which I'd always toned WAY down so as to not get in the way of presenting guy-ish).

This morning I still see some sisterly similarities, but really I'm not like him at all.

Thank you for being so sweet and encouraging...*hugs*

:)

Oh, you're such a nerd LOL...I bet you know all the names in that franchise...I only recognize the title character...now if it were Star Trek, I'd be able to converse about that...;)

I agree. Definitely more Mrs Weasley than Snape. You have the same kind, 'homey' expression as Mrs. Weasley. I could see you being a plump little witch with 7 kids.

But if you did look like Alan Rickman or even a female version - there are a lot worse people you could look like. He's a total hearthrob apparently. Sometimes unique faces are more beautiful than conventionally attractive ones.

Yeah I am a nerd I'll admit it! And I've read all the Harry Potter books countless times. It's actually one of my favorite book series ever! But I love Star Trek too I've watch every episode of the next generation, deep space nine, and Voyager thanks to Netflix. Now I'm not the type of nerd that breaks down every episode but I do enjoy watching them and I hope they eventually come out with a new series.
