progesterone after srs

I went to my drtheday after I got back from srs to get my meds figured out and well, she only has me on estradiol now and no provera, I asked about the progesterone and she said since I am now post op and I have been on "e" for more than a couple years there really isnt any advantage of continuing the progesterone. Now this dr have been dealing with tg for quite some time since 1999 but I am still left with a "huh?" in my head so my question... who is still taking progesterone after surgery? what is the likelyhood of further development if on it? I am looking for opinions here from people who are on it and your dr is prescribing it, I go back in 6 weeks for a follow up, and would like to do a double take on it because I thought I would continue the progesterone after surgery.

From what I'm told some people start having more changes post srs. I know I did but in the body areas more so.

what I wonder is what could it hurt to see if it helps, I would hate to not be taking it if there is a posibility of more changes ...

Calico your right. and its not like they have you take it much longer post srs anyways. when i was in Thailand they said up to an extra 14 months. but since im already curvy they only gave me a two month supply for shots. i have no idea what you look like but as you said. it cant hurt to try

I was taking a contraceptive pill that contained estrogen and progesterone for years after SRS.  I only stopped taking them mid last year after suffering intense brain fog and other ailments.  My long term GP suggested this was from the progesterone.  Now that I've been on estrogen only I've improved out of sight.  So, from my own personal point of view I'd never recommend progesterone post op.  Others may disagree.  Essentially we should be treated like any other post menopausal woman without a womb.

And yes, you will see great changes in the years post op.  The body just keeps on feminizing

Essentially we should be treated like a PRE menopausal woman, somewhere in the pre ovulatory stage of her cycle, to achieve maximum benefit from HT.

My Endo, who is very conversant with TG patients, has no qualms at maintaining patients above 2,000 pmol/L. This is of course once he has established (at least after 12 months consistent treatment) the patient can handle those levels.

Subtle changes I suppose.  Hard to describe, but your body keeps feminizing as it ages.  I look back at photos just after SRS 16 years ago and compare them to   me now, and I suppose I just look more 'natural' now.  Not that I looked bad back then nuther
