I'm assuming you live in NYC so outside of Manhatten rents become a LITTLE more manageable especially outside of the more hip areas ofBrooklyn like Park Slope and Willimasburg. I am actually on the island. Not far from the city, but almost as expensive in many ways. Everyone has this image that we all have our mansions and yachts in the Hamptons which is far from the reality. However, if you look at the property tax and the cost of living out here, you would think we are all millionaires. It really is sad. I know people with tiny homes that could afford a huge house in North Carolina. So, I am looking for places between the Island and the city, but will probably settle somewhere in the city because that's where I see more job opportunities. But most of the trans people I know are either younger kids or older adults, so I don't think I would make the proper roommate. Either way, I will be fine because I am starting to think staying at home makes more sense at the moment. Just hope I will be accepted when I do get the guts to come out.
Aww, I feel bad for the people of New Jersey. It's not quite my thing, but I am all for the Jersey pride
