By this time tomorrow I can take a dressing off of my right breast that covers a hole that was punched in it the other day by one of my doctors.

When I was showing my Post Op letter to my Health Plan, they were very good about accepting the letter and starting the paperwork for my clinic records to be corrected to Female.  When the new gender and the age hit the computer they use, it decided I was overdue for for a mammogram, and I started getting phone calls about it.  I arranged an appointment with the mammography clinic on a day I had another medical appointment scheduled and with a bit of a red face made into the MamoClinic.  I had to answer three questions NA about my last period,, pregnancies and periods of nursing children, but two more about my family history did apply, and the Xray tech had no problem with my being trans.  I had mammary glands to work well in the mammogram machine.  From family history, and all other factors I should have been fine, and off the hook for a couple more years.  WRONG!!

I got a call the evening after my mammogram telling me that they needed me to come back for more pictures due to something they had found or at least thought they had found.  Back I went the next day.  The pictures were still finding something suspicious, and sonograms also picked up the spot.  The next step was a needle biopsy of tissue inside my breast, which got scheduled within three days of the sonogram.

Back with the sonogram expert and this time an MD, and a shot of lidocaine in the breast, a hole punched through the skin and a biopsy needle stuck inside the breast tissue, and samples taken.  A small stainless steel clip souvenier was left inside for future reference, and the hole was closed up with a butterfly suture, which is still on my boob as I type here, it can come off tomorrow, 72 hours after the biopsy.

The biopsy was done Thursday, and Friday afternoon I got a call saying that the sample came back as normal milk duct tissue, but it had taken up residence far from the rest of my other milk duct stuff, and had a shape that was more indicative of nasty stuff in a boob.  We do not put this in our thinking cap with all the other stuff we think about when we start HRT, but I can let you know it happened to me.  Alls well that ends well I guess.

I did get told that even if I had been Non Op and hormone only that my doctor would have been right to order an inspection of my breasts, thus I post this here and not in Post OP.
I refuse to have a war of wits with a half armed opponent!!

Wiser now about Post Op reality!!
