The thigh doesn't hurt, obviously just piercing through the skin but once its in you barely know its there.

These stories made me laugh and cringe at the same time, feel your pain bros.

I just did my fourth shot and when I pulled the needle out, I dragged it on my skin, so I have a 1cm gash from the injection site and so much blood gushing out. Yup, I don't even know why my brain decided to drag and not lift. Nerves, i suppose.

Do they give you the same needles to inject with for the thigh and the glute? I would have assumed they did for any injection, but I saw a guy using a very short needle to inject into his stomach. I suppose the difference might lie in the fact that in the stomach, you're injecting into fat; but the thigh and glute are both muscular, right?

I inject with a 21G 1.5 inch needle. It can be used for glute or thigh.

The "stomach" (SubQ) injections are 25G needles too but just shorter length. Same as a diabetic would use. Yes, SubQ is into fat and the rest are IM injections.

I like a bigger gauge needle myself. I like the injection to be over as quick as possible and the smaller the gauge the longer it takes to push it in.

My original endo prescribed 21-gauge needles that I used to both draw and inject. I didn't have any trouble with pain or blunted needles. But the clinic I go to now prescribes an 18 for drawing and a 22 for injecting. I'm used to that now. But I wouldn't want to go down to a 25 for injections; I have enough trouble pushing in the T now. It's probably a little harder because I inject in the butt. I might try a 25 if I injected into the thigh.
