Today while writing an email to my Dad about my need to transition I got to thinking about songs that inspired me to live your life as how I see fit.

The song that came to mind was Boston's "Don't Look Back" I had just writen that I have No doubts, No what if's and No looking back. So i looked the song up on youtube and followed it with the lyrics and what a great song it is to me. I have always liked it but now it truly has meaning to me.

What song has inspired you?

Songs that inspire me are Mike Oldfields To Be Free & most things by Chloe Agnew, she's got such an amazing voice & sings the best songs

I really really like this song. It's not partically happy but when I am feeling really down this is what I Listen too.
"Too many of us are not living our dreams because we are living our fears."

She popped up on last FM on my Xbox one day & I spend about an hour a day listening to her music on you tube now.
Her voice & the songs she sings calm my spirit very quickly.

I have a few (depending on context and memory)..

One of them is by one of my favourite singers..

Mama Cass Elliot - 'Make Your Own Kind of Music'

It neatly sums up my mindset for transitioning and life in general.

"The truth within me is more than the reality which surrounds me."
Constantin Stanislavski

Mistakes not only provide opportunities for learning but also make good stories.

Jessie J's "Who You Are" really speaks to me.

Don't lose who you are, in the blur of the stars!
Seeing is deceiving, dreaming is believing, it's okay not to be okay.

Sometimes it's hard, to follow your heart.
But tears don't mean you're losing, everybody's bruising, just be true to who you are.

I don't know if anyone will understand why and I really don't know why either, but Black Sabbath's Paranoid.

Discord, I'm howlin' at the moon
And sleepin' in the middle of a summer afternoon
Discord, whatever did we do
To make you take our world away?

Discord, are we your prey alone,
Or are we just a stepping stone for taking back the throne?
Discord, we won't take it anymore
So take your tyranny away!

I suppose something by Propaghandi or Bad Religion.

Basically something that embraces my inner radical leftist and makes me want to go protest or take part in some form political activism.  I'm weird.  I know. :P

Packard Goose - Frank Zappa

Maybe you thought I was the Packard Goose
Or the Ronald MacDonald of the nouveau-abstruse
Well f*** all them people, I don't need no excuse
For being what I am
Do you hear me, then?

Zappa in general encouraged me to stop caring about what others say about me and my weird behavior.

Mother People - The Mothers Of Invention

We are the other people
We are the other people
We are the other people
You're the other people too
Found a way to get to you . . .

Do you think that I'm crazy?
Out of my mind?
Do you think that I creep in the night
And sleep in a phone booth?

Lemme take a minute & tell you my plan
Lemme take a minute & tell who I am
If it doesn't show,
Think you better know
I'm another person

Do you think that my pants are too tight?
Do you think that I'm creepy?
Better look around before you say you don't care
Shut your f***in' mouth about the length of my hair
How would you survive
If you were alive
Sh!tty little person?

We are the other people
We are the other people
We are the other people
You're the other people too
Found a way to get to you

We are the other people
We are the other people
We are the other people
You're the other people too
Found a way to get to you

Do you think that I love you . . .
Stupid & blind?
Do you think that I dream through the night
Of holding you near me?

Lemme take a minute & tell you my plan
Lemme take a minute & tell who I am
If it doesn't show
Think you better know
I'm another person

She Will Be Loved - Maroon 5

When I first heard this song when I was little the lyrics that stood out to me were; "Look for the girl with the broken smile Ask her if she wants to stay awhile And she will be loved." At the time I would look at guys and girls that weren't popular, that would get picked on, and say to myself, 'I wish I had the confidence to cheer them up.'

Lately it's been Avicii - Wake Me Up

i'd try to cheer them up, but they all saw me as a fat freak, or so it seems.
