I want to breast feed sooo much! I'm thinking of taking hormones for 5 months in order to grow whatever breast tissue i can in that time and stopping abruptly to induce lactation. BUT, i dont want to loose the ability to be a biological mom one day. So, if i only go on for hrt for 5 months, will my sperm come back? Will i go back to ejaculating the way i used to? What about doing hrt for 3 months on, 3off, 3 on, 3off,.... I'm 33yo. What about estrogen only and no T blocker? I'm NOT planning on self-medicating as am way to scared to do that.

For two reasons I dont think I will ever fully transition: (1)never could pass well, (2) complications from surgery. This is sort of my compromise.

There's a good chance with that kind of regimen, neither thing you want will work.

No doctor or trans clinic will give you HRT on and off like that. I actually think it could be pretty dengerous doctor or not doctor. And five months on HRT is not enough to induce lactation in most cases. And I don't even think most trans women can lactate and even if you could, I wouldn't give it to a baby.

Really the only choices are to fully transition, hormonally speaking. You don't need surgery. But most doctors won't give HRT to androgynes or genderfluid people who only want to go half way. You could prolly find a doctor who will but I imagine it would be hard. heck, they are pretty strict about giving it to trans women who want to fully transition.

I don't agree with that, I think anyone who wants hormones should get them and be able to get the blood tests and be monitored but that is not the way it is. I could be wrong.

Oh and if you somehow were able to lactate by six months on HRT, it would prolly cause you to go sterile as you would need to halt T production for it to be possible. You would also need anti-androgens.

The Newman/Goldfarb induced lactation protocol is quite effective.

Many physicians and nurse practitioners can support you in it.

First off, you won't get sufficient breast tissue after just five months.  Second it is dangerous to go on and off multiple times, too much of a shock to your system.  Third its a coin flip about becoming sterile.

Sounds to me you need to think this through and talk with a qualified doctor.

Also, you might want to consider that even if you could do that, would any of the hormones effect the breast milk and/or be bad for the baby? I know Spiro & DHT blockers are bad for women having kids.

It is a pretty good, safe protocol.  Many many adoptive moms use it, under doctor's care.  Read up on it and see.
