I am really not having a good time with this AT ALL.  I seem to be doing things that are bass akwards to what I am used to.
Today I almost...I mean wanted to smack a banker. I was trying to cash my check at well's Well you know Bank {I hate Wells Fargo}
The manager and 2 tellers were doing their damnedest to get me to open a checking acct. I am also freaking because I told my Mother
about being trans, See that post. I cannot get her to answer the damn phone. I am always able to get someone. Not my sisters
nor my father will answer my calls. Still going crazy about my teeth and nails. Never bothered to take care of that stuff before, Now
I freak if I cant find my toothbrush. What the heck is going on? The stress is really hard to take. Still doing alot of crying. Bummed out
not knowing exactly
what's going on with myself. Never had feelings like this. YIKES!!!!            I love the spell checker tho....      ???

Woah Woah Woah Woah!

Deep breath!

"For transpeople, using the right pronoun is NOT simply a 'political correctness' issue. It's core to the entire struggle transpeople go through. Using the wrong pronoun means 'I don't recognize you as who you are.' It means 'I think you're confused, delusional, or mentally I'll.'. It means 'you're not important enough for me to acknowledge your struggle.'"

Don't worry, I hate bankers as well ;)

Seriously, please try to calm down and relax.  Being transgender can be difficult, but it can also be incredibly manageable if you have the right mindset.  How do you know everyone is avoiding you?  Maybe they just didn't get the call or were unavailable?  I have made the mistake in thinking people were avoiding me and they were upset when I asked them that.  And even if they were, maybe they have good intentions.  Perhaps they want to do research on the subject so they know how to talk to you and correctly address the situation.

Oh my... This is gonna be tough - I know those feelings :P. Suddenly everything is like the whole world is up against You and nothing works as planned. And You get extremely sensitive about ordinary things... It will calm down after a bit - unless You will do everything to speed the things up.

Patience, my young grasshopper, patience!

I always find camomile + honeysuckle tea pretty good to relax myself. In addition, I have heard that they are likely to be weak T repressors -- although way weaker than medication. Chinese traditional medicine suggests they have an effect on cold.

I agree that the particular bank has some very obnoxious and pushy people.  I also have to agree that there are some strange emotional changes that happen.  It's like "calm, calm, calm" then, suddenly, a full out emotional release.

Once you get used to it, it gets much better and easier to handle these things.  I  have found that if I can avoid the full emotional release, the calm, calm, calm thing is really nice.  However, because of your family, you are in an emotional state that your not used to being in.  A nap was a good idea.  Simply taking a little time for a few breaths can help as well.
To move forward is to leave behind that which has become dear. It is a call into the wild, into becoming someone currently unknown to us. For most, it is a call too frightening and too challenging to heed. For some, it is a call to be more than we were capable of being, both now and in the future.

sylvannus: I don't know about camomille, but I know spearmint is a well recognized effective (yet nowhere near medications) antiandrogen. They use it for hirsutism in women.

JLT1 I have a feeling those up-and-downs might be caused by uneven hormone levels. Maybe you could consider spreading your dosage out more along the day.

Not good - I was hoping the emotional thing was typical for a woman.  Yes, I have have hormone issues.  I'm on the E patch, double normal dose which is the smoothest way to get E.  Still.....

UMMM -- actually, having raised two GG daughters as a single parent, I can assure you that it is typical for a woman, especially near a few days of the month.  I am on oral meds, now for 3 years and 11 months, and while they are not cyclic meds, I have a pretty darn regular 28 day cycle, and there are predictable times the world is better off that I do not carry a lethal weapon.  OHHHH do I get TOUCHY!!  Kaboom!!
I refuse to have a war of wits with a half armed opponent!!

Wiser now about Post Op reality!!

::Big Hug::

Bankers can be so annoying at times, but some can  be sweet at times.

Am so sorry people can be very insensitive and it's sad when they are just being mean for the sake of it.

Maybe some sleep or some nice hot chocolate might help...

It's not. It's only normal considering periods, not outside periods. Males are permanently sort of "rawr", due to testosterone, but in women, it typically only happens when their hormone levels go crazy.

I don't know, maybe your patch isn't as stable as you'd think. Maybe you have testosterone getting in the way. Maybe your levels are not right. Try to get it checked.

fyi, they want you to open a checking account so they have a place to go if the check bounces. Maybe it's time to get one?

fwiw, I stopped using banks decades ago. I realized that they are a business, and as such care more about profits than about the customer. (Not all businesses are like this, but generally any business that is, literally, "in it for the money", will be actively pursuing money-gaining methods, including the "hard sell".) Now I use credit unions, which are not-for-profit (they still do, though they are more discreet about it LOL), the 3 I've used in the past 20 years had no-fee checking accounts (that's where banks got the idea; they noticed customers were leaving in droves to CU's), generally low interest rates, etc.

They tend to be rather tight when it comes to loans, because they don't want to risk the owner's money (the "owner" are the members, btw). All in all, a good deal. Although all CU are formed for a specific clientele (i.e., teachers, military, machinists, etc) often they allow people who are not directly related to the group's activities to join. There's a local CU here in WA that advertises "If you live or work in WA, you're qualified to join..."

Welcome to the adult world of stress, angst, and budgets....

The above post says it well.  It is a good idea to get a checking account.  This will make things smoother when you cash in that paycheck.  A CU is a good place to start.  I got lucky with my bank when I turned 55.  There are no fees in their 55+ checking because I am a senior and I am treated well at my bank.  You younger ones need to shop around more.  My mom was lucky raising 4 kids and worked for the old Bell System.  They had a CU named Bellco.

Thank you for your concern.  You are correct, my hormones are unstable and no one knows why.  The good news is that, after 9 months, my endo got a clue based on my last results.  I now have a schedule of tests – the next one will be taken May 13.  Testosterone varies from 19 to 260....  I've had a number of issues with my transistion and they just keep comming.  But I will make it.

It's people like you, and this forum, that keeps me moving forward.  As I can't go back, the other option really isn't good.  I'm going to make it....

Just a reality check. My SO sometimes doesn't respond to me and immediately my brain goes to the worst case scenario. I find that even when the reality is negative my assumptions are far worse. The advice from above, breath, breath, and breath again is actually very relevant. Do NOT react until you have proof positive of what you are reacting to.

Christy.
Meh.

Tea??

Try something more flammable.....like whiskey.

Tho I do recommend small doses....:)

It is a rough transition, and you will find yourself thinking about, and noticing, a lot of things that never crossed your mind before.

Welcome, to the "real" world.

Cheers!
