Finding a new endo?

I have been going to my endo for almost two years and I really do not like her. I was wondering if any of you knew of an endo in central Ohio that deals with trans patients. I was thinking about calling around to try to find a new one, but I don't really know what to say.

Sadly there doesn't seem to be an informed consent clinic anywhere in Ohio.

Why do you not like your current doctor?

Also - you can just call up the places you pick out and ask 'Does anyone at your clinic work with transgender patients or is your clinic open to accepting a transgender patient?'
Since you have 2 years prior experience with HRT you can always offer to educate a doctor and hopefully open up more options to trans people in your area.

There's a lot of reasons that I do not like her. The biggest reason is that she is never on time. My last appointment was a couple of weeks ago at 3:45 and she didn't even come into the room until 4:50! And then she only talked to me for about 10 minutes. She is also usually kind of rude. She has kept me on a low dose of Androgel for about almost two years. She will only let me take just enough to stop my periods, she doesn't care about anything else.

That seriously sucks but at least you've got lists of doctors to look through! Also, since you've 'been on T' for a while (even a low dose) you should try calling Howard Brown in Chicago. It's a very long drive but they may be able to help you out. My doctor said that after we reach the one year mark I can start having my lab work done by someone else and just send in the info to him so that he can check and make sure everything is okay and write me another Rx. They can send your Rx to a participating Walgreens and then Walgreens can mail it to you for an extra fee.

Worth a shot to call and ask. At the most you might have to drive over and visit once or twice and then just get your labs done locally as long as your HB doctor is cool with it. I don't know if all of them are okay with it. Mine said he was.

I don't know about where you are, but here in UK GPs are allocated 9 minutes per patient, so anyone who has something which can't be solved in that period of time makes them late. Some of my appointments years ago lasted an hour and a half, so I feel really bad for whoever was after me. Not getting long to talk to her probably isn't her fault, and might be the same wherever you go.

Refusing to consider your dose if it is especially low would be a reason to change though.

My doctors are the same here but with everything else as well.I have needed an inhaler all my life and i should see a woman for 5 minutes just to make sure i still need it? and im 36? as if i will sell it on the street *rolls eyes* aside from this,i could never get any help with my PCOS because..well she wouldnt do crap and i always wondered *what am i paying her for?* she even refused me help with another condition,even when i had the medical proof in hand,yes paper work.So i understand and when it comes to people who really need help,its really sad when you cant get it because a doctor cares more about pay and bases their idea on your appearence *oh you dont have nice clothes so you must be a drug addict.nothing for you* but i need to find an endo as well because of the PCOS.the condition has gotten so sever,i dont believe anything else other then a hysto will even remotely help me.But i live in washington.I plan to check around tho.Good luck on your search
