Joe.

This is a stupid post and a bit of a pointless one, but it's annoying me. I bought a new watch today (I go to the same place every time and buy exactly the same watch and I have never had this issue before) and the ticking in it is so loud. I'm sat here and all I can hear is the loud ticking. I can hear it when I watch TV it's that loud. It sounds like a clock not a watch. The noise is driving me insane. Is there any humanly possible way to get the ticking quieter? I was going to go to desperate measures and wrap the damn thing in cling flim so I can still see the time but the ticking noise is fainter, but I don't want to walk around with my watch wrapped in clingfilm hahahah. If there is some watch mastermind or wizard out there who can help that would be great ;)

Stuff your ears with cotton and turn up the TV.
Discord, I'm howlin' at the moon
And sleepin' in the middle of a summer afternoon
Discord, whatever did we do
To make you take our world away?

Discord, are we your prey alone,
Or are we just a stepping stone for taking back the throne?
Discord, we won't take it anymore
So take your tyranny away!

Loving these suggestions haha. One minute it's silent, the next minute the loud ticking comes back. Do you think I can return it for ticking too much? Hahaha

I've had people return things for stranger reasons.

I'd want to be there when you return it: "Excuse me this watch just won't stop ticking!" ;D

But I feel you're pain ticking clocks are super annoying having one all the time would drive me nuts, I would also just get a new watch. Pocket watches are pretty cool too.

Lol I didn't notice how loud the clock that I have ticks until reading this thread.  :)

Btw, if you still have the receipt and packaging you should be able to return it. I used to work in the shoe department at Wal-Mart, and I'd take returns of anything, including a well worn pair of muddy sneakers.  :)

Turn down the volume? There's a little volume knob on the side; if you turn it anticlockwise it'll get quieter. :D

In all seriousness, this suggests that it has a mechanical fault. Clockwork watches should tick consistently; there shouldn't be any noticeable variation in the volume of its ticks. I'd return it if I were you; it needs to be repaired or replaced.
