I've ordered a 6 month supply. I just wonder from others than have used it if it actually helps or not?

It can. Don't expect major hair growth, but a small increase where hair there's male pattern hair loss. Baby hairs. It can also help slow, or stop male pattern baldness. If you plan on starting HRT, I would suggest using estradiol pellets. HRT will stop, in most cases, hair loss, and in some cases, help regrow some hair not damaged by T. Patients that use this medication will find that if they do experience hair regrowth, they can expect better results in after five years. Stopping the medication will leave, unfortunately, the new hairs on the pillow in 8-9 months. This medication under the name Proscar is used to help reduce the size of an enlarged prostate gland.

The best bet is to first start with HRT, then see where you're at in five, or six months. If you don't plan on HRT, then by all means, use the finasteride.

Keep in mind Finasteride works differently on each patient. Good luck, and remember all medication is poison, however, some happen to have a good side effects, or two, or three. ;)

I've been using it as part of my HRT regimen. According to my docter, it stops the absorbtion of the DHT that causes mail pattern baldness. Personally I have a problem keeping my lvls low enough. I guess I use it as a kind of insurance because I love my hair. I did have very slight hair loss just before I started hrt. In fact is was one of the reasons I started taking hormones. Among others obviously. There is like a 3-6 month shedding period that frankly made me want to cry some nights. But when that ends my I had a few weeks where it looked like a mini afro of the new unruly hairs that were standing up saying look at me. But it is one of those things that is different for everyone. Also, for all I know its the HRT and not the finesteride that is helping the hair. In any case I am only taking it untill I get rid of the problem at its source.  ;)

I have been on finasteride about 6 months now. It massively reduced the amount of hair I lose when brushing/washing/etc my hair. I also have a lot of small hairs regrown in areas there they had gone, as well as some hairs thickening up approaching proper size hairs. I only had some minor mpb though and within the last few years, so the hairs were not long dead. I hear this can make a difference. The main thing though is I know it is not getting worse anymore, the thought of which previously was making me extremely depressed.

Thanks, Seras. It seems worth starting.  One question if I can. Are you also taking HRT???

Seras
