As per the title. I have recently suffered anxiety attacks which I have never experienced before. During the sorting of my feelings I have discovered that I have been lying to myself about being a woman inside amongst other things for years and years.

I have read the forums rules and guidelines and I appreciate them.
I'll be looking for information on the whole thing. I saw the thread for people seeking to transition in their thirties. That was the most helpful article so far.
I want to know more about costs, where to go for treatment, making a plan, trying to keep my marriage together. Most importantly I want to know that I can do this.

Hi Christine, Welcome to Susan's. I would recommend starting with seeing a psychiatrist. Hopefully one that specializes in gender identity issues. And talk to you wife about this when you feel comfortable enough.

As you read in the rules we can't talk about cost of medical treatment such as HRT here.

Where to go for treatment? Well that depends on where you live. But I suggest looking for a LGBT friendly clinic in your area.

You can do anything that you set your mind to.

Hi Christine, :icon_wave:

Welcome to our little family. Over 11187. That would be one heck of a family reunion.

Feel free to post your successes/failures, Hopes/dreams.  Ask questions and seek answers. Give and receive advice.

But remember we are family here, your family now. And it is always nice to have another sister.

We do talk about HRT, just not Self medicating.

It does not take courage or bravery to change your gender.  It takes fear of living one more day in the wrong one.~me

I have no intention of self medication. I have a psychiatrist with some experience with GID & anxiety lined up. I have talked to my wife but I don't think it set in.

About HRT I'm actually wondering about the costs associated with seeing an endocrinologist. How many visits per year, what kind of lab one should use for your tests, etc.

Also I'm in the south east of USA so I'm desperate for looking for a good physician to help me plan this out so that I don't run into this too fast.

Thank you again. I'm still reading through your threads and trying to look so far a head that I forget where I currently am on this journey.

Thank you. I can see that I still have a lot of research and study to do before moving financially towards this goal.
