Hi Everyone,
I'm new to Susan's. I haven't introduced myself yet as I'm trying to build up the strength to do so. I found Susan's Place soon after I accepted that I am a girl.
I arrived here scared and alone. When I first admitted on the forum to being scared, a hand reached out immediately and offered support. I had met first dear friend at Susan's.
In the short time that I have been here, I have read and followed a number of topics and I am astonished to have come into a community of such kind, loving and supportive people. You are all so honest, generous and understanding. You have helped me feel privilaged to be a transgendered girl in your company. I am still scared but I no longer feel alone.
My thoughts are on an emotional roller coaster now so I will make no decisions about my future until the roller coaster comes to a stop or at least slows down. I will then tell you all about myself and seek your help and advice. I know that I will be in safe and loving hands.
Love,
Ciara.
I don't have a gender issue.
I love being a girl.

Hey Ciara,

I agree that Susan's is a wonderful community.  Before I signed up, I had lurked for quite some time.  It was a great place to learn about topics and become more comfortable with my identity.  Honestly, I had gone through a long period of depression because of my GID.  Knowing that others have faced their issues and were able to live happy lives after transitioning was such a great inspiration to me.

Don't worry about posting here.  Just share what you feel comfortable sharing.  This is a supportive community and no one will judge or criticize you.  And we don't bite either :)

Hi Ciara,

A belated welcome to you. You are right you know. Susan's is more than a community. It's a family. Whats more, it a family by choice.

You'll find as time goes by, one remarkable thing will happen. It's called,"What goes around, comes around." The more you give and share, the more that is given and shared with you.

Hey! And don't worry about the roller coaster. It never stops. Just makes for more fun, when you least expect it. You can have lots of fun with fellow peak hour travelers in Sydney, when you have an unexpected meltdown in the middle of peak hour traffic. Your eyes are so watery, you can't see the road.

Enjoy your long and prudent stay.

Be safe, well and happy.
Lotsa huggs
Catherine
