Hello to all,

I wanted to share something that happened to me today, it actually made me smile and feel proud. I am so used to the negativity that surrounds me that I tend to forget that there are nice people around too.

As I was getting ready to perform a veni-puncture on a patient today he asked me if I was new. I responded to him that I was not new that I have been with the company for almost 10 years. He started asking me several questions which I politely answered. All of a sudden a look of recognition appeared in his eyes and he said "wait a minute you used to be a boy". This made me laugh and I answered him yes. He told me that I was very beautiful and that he was glad to see that I was happy.

This made me remember that the simple things in life are the easiest things to overlook. I deal with hundreds of people every day and most are unhappy and don't want to be at the clinic anyway, to have one person brighten you day like this gentleman did for ma makes a world of difference. I am so thankful to him for making my day bright and cheerful.

I do hope that this brings a smile to anybody reading this. I guess my point is that no matter how tough things might be or how grey the sky is there is always a little brightness in our lives. Have a great night to all.

Sincerely
Katie

Lovely post Katie. It's nice to know there are good hearted people out there.  Unfortunately, it's the negative people and experiences which tend to always be on the surface of our minds.  Also, it seems like you are doing a great job passing.  I'm sure that feels amazing.

By the way, I love how positive you are about your transition.  To be honest, I find it inspirational.  And yes, reading this did give me a smile.
