I second what Calico said. There are two reasons:
1. Most of the other girls will be staying in the hotel. It's an amazing and invaluable experience to be able to spend as much time as possible with the other girls. If you stay in another place you will miss out on this. I know because there were other girls there who didn't stay in the hotel with the rest of us and they told me afterwards that they regretted it because of the lack of social interaction.
2. The doctors office will only do daily checks in the hotel (unless you were to walk to the clinic itself). It is very convenient to have the doctor's staff come directly to your room each day to check on your healing and answer questions.
Regarding food: Don't worry, the hotel can satisfy dietary restrictions just fine (they have a variety of food choices and can customize your order). It's not the greatest restaurant, but it's just fine. And like Calico said, there are grocery stores really close by. One is just across the street from the clinic in the top floor of the Forum Plaza with lots of food options just like any small grocery store in the U.S. or Europe. There are larger stores (like Tops or Tesco Lotus) just a cab ride away for a couple dollars.
Enjoy your time there! It can be a bit of culture chock at first, but before you know it you'll be missing that place. I know it sounds crazy, but cherish every minute in Chonburi with the other girls. It's a once in a lifetime experience!
