Im sorry guys I didnt know where this would be appropriate.

I have an ftm friend of mine with a birthday coming up. Hes on his 2nd month into his transtion and has mentioned something that might help him out would be a great gift.

The thing is all I can think of is ... well... a... right. XD Is that an appropriate gift? Any suggestions or recommendations?  What would be a good gift if you were in or are in his shoes?

Thanks for any help -_^

Hmmm, depends. I suppose he already has a binder, so that would be rather useless as a gift... you could give him a nice and cool looking (STP?) packer if he doesn't have one already (they're too expensive for 'just a present', I think though)
Not everybody packs or wants to though, so I don't know if it's something for him.

Or... I dunno... if you know his taste in clothes you could buy him a t-shirt, I suppose. Or any other men's product. Maybe even a razor and shaving cream, so he can look forward to the day he can start using it ;)

Of the 'practical' FtM presents I'd probably prefer the packer (totally ignoring the cost right now (if I go for TOTALLY ignoring I'd say the Reelmagik or Tyron 3 prostetic, but HELL those are expensive O_O not something for a bday present, lol), but generally I'm more someone of the 'experience presents' like music tickets, or a day out to... somewhere, so I can't really put myself into his shoes properly.

The gen 2 peecock has some pretty good reviews, so if you're willing to spend the money, I think it's a great idea.

I know I'd be happy to own one, with the exception of the "getting it as a gift" part, but your friend is obviously comfortable enough with that perspective if he linked you to it. (:

Yeah, I'd be pretty happy with one too, but getting it as a gift would be somewhat awkward XD
But if your friend linked you to it, I'd consider that a VERY clear hint! ;)

My girl friend gave me an electric razor. I don't really like it, but what I liked is that she sees me as male. I know it is almost a cliche but it IS the thought that counts. I think that guy clothes would be great, if you know his tastes. Also stuff like hygiene products for men (though might leave out the deodorant. :)  )

Of course the packer and so on are really nice but expensive and it isn't absolutely certain he'd like that either.

Perhaps a gift certificate to a trans-male oriented online shop?  They usually have all of the things suggested here in one location, so he can choose what he would like on his own.  Though I have to admit, even though it would be a little awkward, someone gifting me something so expensive, good-looking and functional as a Peecock would be an amazing thing.  I'd be over the awkward as soon as I opened the packaging =p
