Speaking to USA Today, she was asked how she could look so fresh after partying the night away for the punk-themed Met Gala.
Paltrow said: 'Are you crazy? I'm like RuPaul! I have so much makeup on. Foundation! Last night, I was literally a transvestite.
She also described herself as a 'lightning rod' after she won a poll looking for the world's most 'hated celebrity'.
'People project a lot of stuff onto me. It's nothing to do with me. I don't read stuff about myself. I feel like it's none of my business,' the 40-year-old said.
'People perceive that I have too much. I understand that, but I also feel like I've suffered so much. It's not something I talk about. I don't have a perfect life, I don't have a perfect anything. I have incredible struggles, and I'm far from perfect.
