Caroline Gibbs and The Transgender Institute?

A friend of mine is planning on going to the Transgender Institute to do gender therapy with Caroline Gibbs and he wanted me to ask to see if anyone had heard of her/experiences/et cetera.

Anyone been there/know anything about it?

During my search for a gender therapist I worried that most therapist in my area were ignorant or religiously biased on the subject of gender dysphoria. I wanted to find a therapist who specialized in transsexual clients. I assumed there were none where I lived so I researched gender therapists who will do sessions over Skype. Caroline did sessions over Skype. Eventually I was able to meet with her in person. I had a session with her about two weeks ago in her new office. I'm very satisfied with her as a therapist.

Caroline Gibbs is the woman who prescribed me testosterone. She's actually really awesome and you can tell that she knows what she's doing. Not only did she help me as far as transitioning, but she helped me deal with a lot of issues at school that I wouldn't have known how to take care of without her assistance. Literally anything about transitioning is what she takes care of - not just the diagnosing part.

She also gives referrals to a great internist named Cynthia Glass. She's a lovely woman and is extremely sympathetic to the trans community. She is, by far, the friendliest doctor I've ever gone to. Oh, and her office and Caroline's are in a reasonable driving distance, so that's a plus.

Very helpful link. I live in Missouri and am thinking about starting to see a therapist about my gender issues. Their sight is very helpful and might be just what I'm looking for
