I was just wondering, when you get on testosterone, do you get a noticeably more angular face? I have a very round, chubby face, but my gender therapist says that I have a strong brow and jawline, which will become more pronounced once I start T. This is one of my biggest concerns and it is one of my biggest insecurities. I have been desperately trying to lose weight, but I am hoping that testosterone will help me.

It's really hard to say how anyone's body will react to T. A lot of guy get "moon face" at first from T (since it is a steroid it can cause inflammation) and it takes awhile to go down. It's also easy to gain weight on T if you're not eating right.

Nobody can really say what you will or won't get on T. There are a few givens...eventually your voice will change, you'll get hairier, etc but it's all down to your genetic profile. I couldn't walk up to a cis male getting ready to start puberty and know what he's going to look like five years down the road and it's the same for us.

I do think the whole "one year on T" thing is overrated. Yeah, most of us can pass by then but it still takes a few more years than that to reach our final form. Fat redistribution is one of the latter things to occur for many guys.

Yes, your face will change. Almost guaranteed. I too had a pretty round face. Here's a pic pre T:

Oh, wow, that's amazing! You look great! It's definitely reassuring to see that, as my face is pretty round as well (of course, mine will also probably change some with continued thyroid maintenance). Ugh, can't wait to start T!

T does change your face. Your therapist isn't really right. T changes people to different degrees. I don't think my face became more angular exactly. T also doesn't help with weight loss.

T made my cheeks less puffy. I think that since you can get the moon face then it might get cancelled out. But the moon face does go away I think. I lost a few pounds on T, it's just I have been more motivated to keep my cholesterol down and so on. My appetite really went up.

I am almost 3 months on T.

I agree! You really look great Chamillion! Pics like those really give me hope! :)
It's unbelievable how much your face changed! Wow!

I have a pretty round face myself too, I really dislike how soft my features are. :< But I figure that T would help.

I was on T for only six months or so, and had noticeable changes with my face being less round/feminine. If I remember correctly, it only took a few weeks on T until I started to see a difference. But the amount of time it takes and how much of a change you'll see probably varies from one person to another.

This is my one year.  The left was my last Pre-T pic 5.4.12 and the right was one year later 5.4.13  Your face definitely changes.

From what I hear, if anything, T will do the opposite of help you lose weight because your appetite goes up.  So you have to be committed to working out to gain the muscle to improve the metabolism to deal with the appetite.  The best way to do that is start before T because you're going to be dealing with a ton of other stuff at the time.  2nd puberty...ewwww!!!  We all know how icky 1st puberty was!  Self esteem could go down with potential acne too, so you want to be in a good motivation to workout BEFORE that all starts imo.  And your face is more likely to change because of a difference in fat distribution, than any bone changes, although there can be some bone changes if you're younger.  Initially you do often get that puffy face though, and as soon as some go on T it seems they can find it harder to pass just because of the temporary issue!  So yeah, with all that going on, if you want to lose weight on T, you need to put the effort in before T so it's more 2nd nature to train and not something you have to force yourself to go through when you might be feeling a little down.  And exercise is the best thing for those moments because it's a natural high, but the last thing we often feel like doing, especially if we're not used to it.

It's a 2nd puberty and a potential hard couple of months to start with.  Add in increased appetite and T isn't going to help with weight loss at all.
